Casting Lullaby at a DC of 17
Both wolves are effected by the soothing spell.
The party(Sans Jaden, who is too far ahead of them) needs to roll a will save DC17 or be effected by the spell as per the description.
Hozs Ferryman |

Hozs screams as his blood spatters across the wolf's fur. "I'll not...." Instead of finishing the thought he bashes the wolf with his glowing hands.
fighting unarmed-18 and 4 damage (1d20+3, 1d3+3=[15, 3], [1, 3])

Fakey, using the warwand is still like firing ranged weapons into melee yes?
Will save against lullaby (1d20+1=17)
After tossing the light imbued stone, Effan reaches for his crossbow, but the wolves come in too quickly. He sees the wolf savage the druid. "Hozs!" Picking up his staff he aims a blow at the wolf's head.

Effan Effluvium wrote:The False DM wrote:Yeah, but I still wouldn't want anyone to take friendly fire. Maybe Effan will take precise shot for his next feat.Yes, but it is a ranged touch attack so that should help some.
Where's the fun in that! Friendly fire is awesome+! ;P
Go for it. It is not like Hozs would ever figure out that wolves don't carry wands O:) (though i would be less daring without the racial hit die :).

Hozs Ferryman |

Jaden's axe springs to his hand and he chops at the wolf.
Since both are in melee switching to the axe. Axe 6, dmg 9 (1d20 3, 1d8 2[3, 3], [7, 2].
Hozs punches again at the wolf, sparks of gold spreading from the over-sized outline. Hozs 10, dmg 4 1d20 3, 1d3 3=[7, 3], [1, 3])

The False DM |

Jaden swings wide, missing the wolf. The wolves surge forward attacking with vicious teeth. One striking Hozs but unable to drag him down (4 damage) and the other's jaws clamps down on empty air where Raphael was standing. Hozs swings desperately at the beast attacking him but his blows lack a good swing and glance off of the beast ineffectually.
Keegan runs about like an angry flame and slices the beast assaulting Hozs with a solid blow but the canine refuses to fall.
Raph and then Jaden, Effan, and Faldor before the wolves.

Effan Effluvium |

Maybe Hozs wouldn't figure out wolves don't use crossbows? ;)
Effan throws his staff down in frustration, will I never be able to help my friends? and draws the combat wand . I hope this works or Hozs is dogfood. Concentrating, he points the wand at the wolf savaging the druid.
Combat Wand: Concentration, to Hit (1d20=13, 1d20=13) + 1 Concentration, +2 to hit gives 14 and 15 respectively. Wand Damage with +1 concentration bonus. (1d4+1=2)
A shrill squeal emanates from the wand, unpleasant for all who hear it, but painful at its focus.

The False DM |

Jaden hits the wolf with a supremely placed throw that drops the beast, splitting it's breastbone down the middle and spilling blood and organs upon the damp forest floor.
Effan fires his wand at the remaining beast, hitting it in the face and causing damp red fluid to begin leaking from it's right ear in a bloody river. The beast looks like it has had enough of the fight and turns to run.....on it's turn it will withdraw.

Hozs Ferryman |

Maybe Hozs wouldn't figure out wolves don't use crossbows? ;)
Faldor did you get that from the wolves? *wink*
Hozs grunts as the wolves run off. "That did not go as well as I thought it wood have. Miss Squeeker did I not do it right? Maybe I did not lift my arms high enough?" Lifting his arm Hozs notices the blood leaking from his wound. "Oh. Ow. Uhmmm...?" He drops to his knees and reaches for his Ki and sends the spiritual hare to his shoulder and his companions. "Uhmmm... bunny bandaid."

"Hah! You'll get your chance, I'll wager. Asmodeus knows this cursed vale's full of beasties just itching to be put to the sword. Mayhaps we'll find the monastery filled with raging orcs, hmm? But for now, sleep is calling."
Raphael bows gracefully to the rest of the party, turns, and returns to his sleeping place, grumbling quietly about not bringing a bedroll.

"Yesee, sirrah, but I's be bettin' that Ass-my-dais isn't be knowin' that orc pelts not be worth much cashy cutter, O my droogy."
Keegan licks his hand, then uses it to brush his unruly hair out of his eyes.
"Orc skins be smellin' of hogs, they does. Believe me, I does know."

The False DM |

The rest of the night is uneventful and the gray morning breaks slowly. In the dawn's light you can see the wolves more clearly and it is easy to note that their pelts are beautiful and well maintained. Hozs notes that they aren't the typical wolves that struggle in the wild, this group was well-fed, clean, strong and well-groomed: the typical signs of highly successful hunters.
The hides would probably be able to pull in 30 gp each in town and would take about an hour to harvest if you want to.

Jaden Thorm |

Jaden goes to the wolf he sent to ground with the axe and then takes to the cleaning of the hides of the other wolfs. He even goes as far to try and make a helm with the big wolves head.

Uhmmm.... a little as much as you. Or maybe as better than you. Uhmmm.... Here put this on your fetlock." Hozs reaches to the wound in Jaden's leg, sprinkling it with what looks like dried herbs and he whispers. The pale green leaves turn a vibrant emerald when hitting the fencer's blood. Wow, best CLW description ever. I loved fetlock too.

Effan wanders over while Jaden works on his helm. "If you had a nice strip of leather and a couple iron rings, I could fashion you a strap for that. It'd help make sure it stayed on your head when you needed it to. "

The False DM |

"That would help Effan, Thank you."
Jaden keeps working away at the helm(s), now with Effan's help
You manage to make 2 serviceable helms complete with chin straps which will tie together temporarily until Effan can get them into his shop, but they will need some time to cure before wearing them (24 hours should do it). You also manage to harvest all the pelts, although you went a bit thin in areas of the third pelt which will affect the resale value(-10gp).

Jaden Thorm |

-10g i will live with, the helms are worth more right now, what would you give, +1 ac with helm?
Jaden gets the last pelt done, and sees his mistake in skining. The effort was not lost with the helms, not bad for a woodsmen he thinks, and leaves them to cure near the warm fire.
"I do not think they are two bad at all. Anyone want a helm?"

"Y'knowwat, doogy? You has problems, you does."
Keegan mumbles to himself as he digs a wart out of his finger with his knifepoint, flicking it into the bushes.

Faldor O'Gistoresh |

Wiggling his toes as he sleeps Faldor finally wakes and again sets to work on his short ballad he has been writing about the heroics of the 'Cure Seekers.' If all goes well it will be a wonderful song to add to the heroes well timed return with the healing for all the sick. His humming is quite cheerful and loud as he continues the composing in his head.

Effan Effluvium |

Sun's up, the day is looking to be a clear, warm day.
Anything else before you guys move on?
The sunny skies and warmth put Effan in a good mood. He will offer up trail rations and the crossbow for anyone who wants them. Then he'll pack up his tent and gear. And wait for the party to be ready to go. At which point he'll cheerfully struggle into his oversize pack.

"Uhhmmm... We are not cursing anyone Faldor. We are just trying to find some mushrooms to help Elizabeth and the other sick people." Hozs is ready to leave as soon as he and Miss Squeeker finish their katas.

A couple of hours of trudging through the rain-soaked (but drying quickly) foliage leads you to the edge of the Forest. You first uninterrupted sight of Droskar's Crag is awe-inspiring. The mountain is indeed an imposing and harsh looking one, the base of which begins about five miles away beyond the foothills. You see a squat structure in the light trees about halfway to the mountain.....some sort of building....is this the dwarven ruins? Seems to fit the description.
It's about 2 miles away, rolling hills, light grass, sparsely wooded. Are you guys just walking up or are you gonna take any special precautions?

With Keegan on point I feel perfectly safe. I'd imagine standard marching order which I think was Keegan, Jaden, (Hozs, Effan, Faldor in no particular order) and Raph watching the back door. Did I get it right and is that good with everyone? Of course based on how its gone so far we should have weapons ready and examine everything minutely so that it takes the rest of the day to cover the distance.

Jaden Thorm |

I like the marching order, but we could move at half speed as per normal, and the distance would not take more then an hour or two even going slow, but i think about 1k to 500 metres from the compound, we should make a breach order, so we can take it room by room. Secure the outer grounds frist. Anyone have any ideas for the movement? Should we breach and clear, or take it slow and quite?
Knowing the party is close to the ruins, he get up along Raph.
"Raph, i think we should get a spot away from the ruins we can drop off extra kit, and it would be a fall back point if we should need one. It should have a good view of the ruins, but give us cover from whatever could be there."

this works for me. Hozs enjoys the leisurely pace set by the small folk, "Ahh!?" but wyverns, stick people, ravens, wolves, and even cauldrons have him and the critters a bit jumpy. "Oh. Nothing. Whew."

The False DM |

As the party creeps cautiously forward toward the ruins they can see more clearly that the structure looks to be a ruined dwarven monastary. Simple stone blocks, worn smooth from time and the elements, are slowly falling apart. Large sections of the slanted shale roof have collapsed and portions of the outer wall have crumbled creating several breaches.
Weeds and wild thorn plants run rampant across the field leading to the place, a slight path leading to the ruined front doors. Beyond the doors an overgrown yard sits in shadow. Two squat humanoid statues flank the door but detail is missing from this distance. "CAW!, CAW!, Caw!" A few lone razorcrows roost upon the tower and cry out at the party's appearance.
The party is about 100' from the front entrance. Feel free to approach from any direction. The only living thing in the area seems to be the razorcrows hanging out on the tower.
