Male Human Rogue 14

“Now how did I know you wouldn’t stick to the plan?” mutters Beldan as Gittik sneaks off for a little offensive recon, but he has to admit that the small warrior is good and quiet. Halflings get all the cool skill bonuses.

As Bel finishes loading his crossbow, theres comes another profanity laced yell from Granny, and the rogue looks up in time to see two of low-brow’s men fall to the ground with smoking holes in their heads.

“Damn. Swear to Pelor, I’m not taking any of her stuff. But don’t suppose she can take them all … I guess I better do this thing.”

Kneeling half concealed behind the wall, Beldan lines up Swertlow in his sights, adjust his aim slightly, and pulls the trigger.

Attack:13+3 = 16. Aiming the bolt to whiz past about a foot from Swertlow’s face, dead between the warriors at I8 and K8, and bury itself several inches into the wall of the latrine at J6. Try to get them all ducking for cover. Duck back down (EDIT) partly behind the wall if I can at the end. Hide: 8+7 = 15

M Halfling Barbarian 10

Rage! Attacking K18. Roll to hit = 11+6 = 17. Damage = 2 + 4 = 6.

"Char-garr!" Gittik's scimitar lashes out at the nearest grunt.

In Goblin:

Spoiler:
"Kneecappers!"

Stiggy is hot on his heels.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

For the Cleric Becton of Pelor: No climb check; double move gets you up to V17 if you want; run gets you as far as q14 if you want...

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

For Beldan: Swertlow hits the dirt. The quarrel is embedded in the outhouse. Much running about like chickens is there.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

For Gittik: the scimitar slices twixt the ribgroove of the warrior, finds the spleen. He drops, a gouts of red pumping out of his side, then nought.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Stiggy: same move allowance as the cleric; pick a square.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Soon as I have fakey, ragadolf, and vatnisse declare their movements, as well as kruely and alex declare positions, init is as follows:

Granny on the thump gun,
17 Stiggy gettin wiggy withit
16 Riese with the nice
16 Beldan
16 Altai (prolly gonna whip up a beetle)
16 Gittik
15 Elgan
15 Harvak (if he wants in on this beatdown)
14 Becton
Then:
Swertlowe
The 1/2 Orc Apocalypto extra
The Tall dark and ranksome Zombie in black
The ever-ticking away mob of bandits

On those 16 and 15s not sure who wins; that's a lot of character sheets to compare dexes on.

Beldan and Gittik tie at 17, Riese and Altai at 16. I'll graciously let Beldan go first.

Beldan will spend his move action reloading his crossbow; Gittik will probably see action straight up, so he can go first.

Just put Stiggy on the map where the shortest run would bring him, I'n not too clear where that is and it's only fair because he is slower.

At Stigs first opportunity to attack:

IF Stig can reach someone with a standard move:

Spoiler:
he will move up and attack that person, if there are several he will choose the most heavily armoured person.

IF he can only reach someone by charging:

Spoiler:
then he will charge the nearest and most heavily armoured.

IF NEITHER THEN:

Spoiler:
Stig moves his maximum toward the most heavily armoured dude.

Attack roll: 1d20+5=11 That's 13 if he charges.

His AC is 18, 16 if he charges.

M Halfling Barbarian 10

When my action comes up.

Spoiler:
Gittik simply adjusts his stance and swings at the next enemy. His scimitar misses but his kukri wreaks horrid damage on the haplass guard's innards.

Scimitar = 2 + 4 to hit = miss. Kukri = 18 + 4 = 22 and threat. Roll to confirm threat = 12 + 4 = 16. Damage = 7 or 14 (rolled max damage) if crit confirmed. 5' step to K18.

Tenser stops at the ends of the road and barks like someone's trying to cut his balls off.

Ok, what Moth said. I'll use that roll whenever my turn comes up.

M Halfling Barbarian 10

OK, Stig moves to V15, Gittik does his stuff, then Beldan's turn.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Gittik drops a second warrior; they both moved up on him; the other one is at L17 now ready to attack at their round one go. Gittik's round one go is used.
Becton got to V15 on the surprise round, and can move andor attack on his round one go.
Stiggy charges the 1/2 orc in hide armor who has bitten his tongue with his filed down sharklike teeth and is oozing bloody foam out of his mouth. Stiggy's 1st round action takes him to p13. His axe slices mightily into the halforc's side. damage r9+4=13. The mighty halforc still stands, but he's seen much better days. That's Stiggy's round one goes.

Granny plugs two more of the warriors, at h7 and i8, who drop. She heads back into the door of her house, cursing up a storm. That's granny's round one go.

Everybody else, again one surprise round worth of movement, then a move and attack on your round one go, then it's their turn.

Male Human Rogue 14

Beldan looks up from reloading his crossbow, to see that Gittik has downed two of the thugs, but that another seems to be gathering up the courage to charge at the halfling whilst the latter tries to extract his curved dagger from his opponent’s abdomen. Wincing slightly, the rogue fires his crossbow again.

Reload. Attack roll to hit thug at K16: 17+3 = 20. Damage:7

EDIT: thug now at L17, not K16. Partial concealment from tree. Miss chance roll: 73%

EDIT (again) - I think I fire before he moves for round 1, so never mind the miss chance stuff.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Beldan drops the warrior at L13.

dungeonmaster heathy wrote:

Opps forgot to roll damage. I'll take that 9. Bonus (+4)=13.

Beldan drops the warrior at K16? Or do I have a missing post from Becton?

Ah, it's so much easier to understand my battlemaps when everyone has a character name starting with a different letter...

Shit. I mean Beldan. Duuh... Edited previously wrong post for accuracy.

Come on now Gittik has dropped 2 before I can even post? Can we keep to an initiative order? Give a guy a chance to post!

Riese moves next to the fence and fires his crossbow at the closest warrior, missing.
1d20+3=4, 1d8=5
Reload and fire for the next, aiming for Swertlowe: missing again.1d20+3=9, 1d8=5

Gittik and Beldan had scouted ahead, and got to attack in the surprise round, then again at the start of round 1.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Swertlowe's still talking crapola...
"Aaah, Reise,...ha ha! I'm lieing on the ground like a helpless little woodchuck and still you cannot manage to harm me. Why don't you allow me time to tie myself up and put on a blindfold?"

EDIT: I promise that everybody'll get to do a little somethin somethin; sorry fakey, I just get a little carried away trying to expedite stuff.

I guess we're all lucky Heathy let us move up that fast after Gittik started ravening these clowns. It's all Aubrey's fault... =)

Male Human Cleric 4

Still not a 100% certain of where I want to get to, but since I'm behind the rest of the pack, a couple of options:

If I can get a clear shot of this gang after moving withing range:

Spoiler:

I'll take a shot at the Zombie guy with my crossbow.

Crossbow Shot (1d20+1=12)
Damage (1d8=1) if that hits.

Bleah all-around

Otherwise, I'll wait for everyone else to join in the fray, and then see where I am needed.

By the way, if a head count is possible - how many thugs, etc are we left facing after the last couple of shots?

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Becton, your shot was dead-to-rights. It seems to glance off of him as if it hit armor of some sort at an unfortunate angle. You shoot from V15, if you want to you can move up to melee with him, or behind the dwarf if that's to your liking.
At this point, there's 4 common warrior thugs, Swertlowe(prone), the halforc maniac who's about to hit the dwarf with his 2-handed maqahuitl
(an aztec/olman club with shards of surgical-grade obsidian embedded in the business end), and the zombie who seems to be incanting some form of magical spell of some kind. He is, however, doing so "on the defensive" as it were.....

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Whoa! I take a couple of hours off to do house repairs and look what happens!

Huh? Sounds like the scouts found more than they bargained for. As the cursing and screaming begins up in the fog, Altai jumps off the wagon and sprints towards Granny's house, fumbling through his spell component pouch as he runs.

If I may, I spent round 1 taking a move action towards the fighting and casting mage armour on myself. Round 2 is spent on maneouvering to get within 30' of the zombie whatsit, wherever that may bring me, and starting to cast Summon monster 1. The beetle appears on my initiative in round 3 and chomps a big hole in the dead guy. At that time, I'll switch to my crossbow, as I'm out of spells.

Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)

Wow. I'm offline for a few hours, and ZAP,POWIE!

Elgan reappears from the edge of vision, his bow held ready, glaring at the crowd in general, and the undead abomination chanting in the back.

I'm COMPletely lost on the map, I can't tell what's where anymore. so, unless there is enough clear space to cast an Entangle without catching any of our guys, (Or at least not more than one of us) then I will go with the following.)

Elgan leaps forward with a feral snarl twisting his handsome features. It looks like he has tripped,... But in an eyeblink he shimmers, and has been replaced, gear and all, with a hunting cat. The beast never pauses, but dashes around the dwindling combatants, heading straight for the chanting undead.

Elgan's to hit/dmg rolls vs Zombie-caster: (1d20 3=21, 1d6 3=8)

Like I said, lost map-wise. But I'm hoping that with a 50' movement I can manage to get to the zombie and attack this round withOUT garnering an AoO. If not, then use the above rolls (with only a +2 instead of +3) as the att/dmg rolls for a bow attack. He concentrates on the hated undead abomination of nature.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Eltan drops the zombie with one fearsome ripping. Altai, you can put mage armor on round surprise, book up there round one, and at the beginning of round two you're popping the beetle. You're at q14, eltan's at p14 standing over the dead and no longer moving zombie.

Now their turn....

The halforc swings at the dwarf, the maqahuitl crashes heavily on the dwarf's shield but does not find meat for its obsidian fangs.

Swertlow fires a bolt at Gittik, and hits the oak tree to his right.
Then Swertlow stands up.

The warrior at m11 charges Gittik, and with a really horseshit swing of a longsword is at k17.

The warrior at n10 moves to p12 and takes a swipe at the dwarf, missing.

The warrior at L10 moves to o14 where the zombie was, and swings at the cajun druid with a longsword. He strikes for 7 in damage.

The warrior at k8 moves to o13, cannot attack this round.

A crossbow bolt is fired out of a window on the second-story of the house at Beldan. It is fired from a window at square a18. This crossbow bolt slaps into the wall, and ricochets straight up into the air. It arcs off down the hill a ways.

Nothing from Granny. On initiative group's go; I'm going sleepytime.

Lovely. In that case, my beetle-bomb target becomes Lord Swertlow himself. The bug only lasts a round, so it needs to be utilised well.

Oh, snap. He hit my shifted AC of 16? Then I am down to 2 HP! Medic! (Oh, wait, That would be ME!)

NEXT turn, Will step back 5' to get out of range,... shift back to elf. (Swift action, will reappear with shield in hand. AND 'fight Defensively for +2AC, total will be AC:17) and trade my Entangle (since we're all mixed up in here) to spontaneously cast CLW on myself.

Elgan's CLW roll: (1d8 1=6)

THAT will put me back to 8HP

Male Human Rogue 14

On init count 16 of round 2:

Bel ducks for cover as a crossbow richochets with a ~zing~ of the stone wall beside him and arches up over his head.

“No fair! Who was that?” Beldan vaults over the low fence and dashes over to the house, around the corner from the offending window. Pressing himself close against the wall, he re-loads his crossbow, periodically looking around to make sure no-one is sneaking up on him.

Moves to A21. Reloads crossbow.

INIT: 17 Round 2, POSITION: P13

Stig swings at the half-orc: 1d20 6=25 (Forgot that racial bonus last round.)

His axe cuts in: 1d10 4=9

Stig's AC: 18

Well back from the fight, Tenser lets out an ungodly howl.

"ArooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!"

M Halfling Barbarian 10

Gittik hacks down the guardsman in front of him, and then moves to loom (in a short way) over Swertlowe.

Roll to hit the guard in K17 with scimitar 16 + 4 = 20, damage = 3 + 4 = 7 (which more than took down the last guy, so I'm assuming that will do). Move to J14.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Okay...Gittik drops his combatant and rolls up on Swertlowe. Fakey can fire with only a 25% risk of hitting Gittik instead of 50%; Gittik's short. If Fakey fumbles, though, he hits Gittik.

The halforc also is dropped by the dwarf.

Beldan sees a window on the south side of the house, second story, that should be in the same room the shooter fired from. There's also a first story window underneath he could make; the drapes are dangling out the window like it's open or something.

waiting on Alex Martin, Vatnisse, and Fakey...

Male Human Paragon 3 /Evoker 6 (abjuration&enchantment barred) ---37,300XP

Riese loads and fires again but misses Swertlowe. 1d20+3=9, 1d8=2 I have no idea what you mean with the percentages to hit Gittik, he isn't grappling the dude and I have Point Blank Shot and Precise shot which negates the -4 for shooting into a melee.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

You're right, Riese. I got confused.

Male Human Rogue 14

Altai next? Then Elgan, who has already posted his action, so Becton.

Swertlow is still standing in J13 with Gittik on him. There are three of Swert’s men left in the courtyard, all currently facing off on Stiggy as Elgan has withdrawn from combat. There’s congestion at the gate – anyone who wants to get through to help Gittik is going to have to drop a warrior, suffer an AOO, or hop over the wall.

Are we talking US first and second stories, or British? Like is the first story at ground level, or one floor up?

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Huh! Forgive me; I'm kinda tired....okay, I got my brain wrapped around this one.....

The shooter originally fired from a window on the east wall, US second story, British first story. There's a window on the south wall, same story as that, and an open window on the south wall underneath that one, on the US first story or British ground floor.

Oh, and wrt helping Gittik,...I think Vatters was talking about whipping up a celestial giant fire beetle...just waiting for his confirm; don't know if he wants to help the guys at the gate, or Gittik the scything halfling of doom.

It's all good man. Just wanted to make sure. I'll assume US versions of such things from here in!
