Best 4E Joke I Ever Read

4th Edition

Jon Brazer Enterprises

Those of you that don't know, Kenzer & Co is giving away a recent issue of Knights of the Dinner Table for free on PDF to allow those that never read it before/those that haven't read it in a long time a chance to give it a looksee. In the comic section (yes, section, Its a magazine with comics in it and no longer a comic book), there's an excellent joke about players reactions to the new edition. And yes it is about the "anti" crowd, but it is none the less exceptionally funny.

And to dispel rumors now: Kenzer is doing this to help give new readers a chance at the mag and they are NOT going an all digital route.

EDIT: I believe the free download is for a limited time.

Liberty's Edge

Wow, 100 pages to go through! Can we have a page reference? I mean I'll eventually read the whole thing but I'd like to see what's so funny!

Ohh oops. p20-26. That section of comics.

<sob> I don't get it! Is there something about pennies and scooters I don't understand? Or maybe I just need to reread it...

Where's the funny?

Spoiler Alert

Spoiler:
Bob is all depressed about how his girlfriend is upgrading to the new edition and he hates the new edition. It just poking fun at the Anti-4E crowd (myself included). The whole build up of how you're expecting him to say that's she's cheating on him and he said he found the 4.85 PHB.

I don't know, I thought it was a riot.

Liberty's Edge

Hehe anyone else read through the whole first comic thinking it was going to make fun of the 'points of light' bs?

Ack! Crud, I was too busy expecting a fierce, derisive jab! I spend too much time reading 4E boards... I was trying to read into every little thing for a suckerpunch. ;)

I know what it's about. I just didn't think it was funny. It was rather predictable. Look, the guy thinks that the rules are so important that he'd split up with his girlffriend over them! That's so old.

"Hackmaster 4: New rules, but the same old clichés?"
