FLGS in Dallas Area?

Gamer Connection

Does anyone know of a dedicated FLGS in the Dallas/Fort Worth area?

I'm not talking about comic stores that have a decent selection of gaming stuff (ala Lone Star Comics), I'm looking for a real game store.

I know of one. Games Workshop has a store in Grapevine Mills but they're Games Workshop only...

You know where Valley View Mall is, up by the Galleria on 635? There's a store called Game Chest there. It's all RPG's and box game type stuff. I've been getting Pathfinders there and whatnot, and they're fairly well stocked up on a lot of stuff. I've been in Dallas about 5-6 years now, and it's the best place I've seen here.

That's all there is to Valley View Mall though; it's kinda on the way out.

Oh, and I'm sure you know about Half Price Books; the main one's on Northwest Highway about a block east of Greenville, but they're all over the place. They have lotsa stuff come in and out, so it's hit-and-miss.
They've recently had mega 3.5e book dumps there, but right now it's kinda spotty.

Actually, I'm just trying to find a good reliable source that I can feel good about ordering and purchasing from. I am very familiar with Half Price, I hit four or five different ones a week. Lone Star Comics is okay but again, their focus is not games. I didn't know about Game Chest in Valley View, but you reminded me, I think they have one in Collin Creek in Plano...

I might have to check that Game Chest out next time I go up that way. That's prolly about as "local" as I'll get. About the Same distance as Waco for me now anyways.

Noble Knight Games has been my "local" for quite some time. A blessing for a gamer living life in the sticks.

And here I thought everything in Texas was big. ;)

My ego has to count.

Liberty's Edge

LOL I'd ask you where you are, but I won't know where it is anyway. I barely know where half the stuff in Dallas is.
Just all the decent bookstores, work, home, Wal-mart, that sorta drek.

It's a little place called Tennessee Colony that hopes to one day grow into an actual village. Some of the wonderful sights of our village to be are a General Store that is closed on Sundays.

That's....pretty much all we got.

Oh, and cows.

Liberty's Edge

I need a cow. My refrigerator is busted.

Dark Archive

I traded my cow for three magic beans.

Liberty's Edge

Want a broken compressor? It lays golden eggs.

Dark Archive

I'm not falling for that a fifth time.

Liberty's Edge

You know that gullible's not in the dictionary?

Dark Archive

I traded my dictionary for the cow.

Liberty's Edge

I could give you an antique one worth $80,000. I have two in a safe deposit box in Hawaii, if you could front me the money to fly there.
I'm the third son of the Duke of Worcestershire, y'know. I'm just having trouble laying hand on cash right now.

Game Chest was my FLGS for years when I lived in Big D. The owner, Kevin, is kinda crotchety but a great guy. Since I moved to Killeen (b/c of the Army) I've been doing a lot more offline buying.

Wish I had known you back in my Dallas days, Heath. Would have loved to run a game with you in it. Wonder if we know each other...

Hell yeh, dude!
I've been here for about 5 years; moved here to make more money.
I got 3 kids now, so.....all my gaming is pbp.
I try to get up to Game Chest about once a month; I live over in Garland by Lake Ray Hubbard. I usually hit the Lone Star Comics on the way home from work because I work at UTSouthwestern over by Parkland, and swing out home on I-30.

There used to be a place off Mockingbird and Greenville Ave, inside a two story strip mall....I forget the name now(SW corner).

Also there is a place on Jupiter and Beltline(SE corner) strip mall that has a gaming story....again my old age prevents my mind for thinking of the store name.

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, I been both those places. The place at Mockingbird was heavier comics wise; they had some really wild comics....

The place on Jupiter seemed kinda sparse, though I found this obscure Witches book for 3e there I was looking for for a while; I think they had games going on there too.

The Comic Asylum...

Might be cool to see if we can arrange a "Nor-Tex Paizonians" one-shot or something...

Thanks DitheringFool. I usually just go to the Lone Star Comics in Mesquite so its name escaped me....
