Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Just curious but are there more formal organizations of magical learning in places say like Riddleport (where I would expect such to be),or even more close to home in the Rise of the Runelords campaign area like the city of Magnimar? I suppose on Magnimar I could ask my DM about that (figure I'll get a faster response here),but since I'm the player I can't read the book as that would be a major no-no...hehe.

Magnimar has the "Stone of the Seers" a magical school of wizardry that seems to specialize in Divination magic (and Abjuration as well). I'd imagine Korvosa has a magic school too.

The gazetteer of Varisia in Pathfinder #3 mentions a few:

  • The Twilight Academy in the town of Galduria
  • The Stone of the Seers in the city of Magnimar
  • The "infamous" Acadamae in the city of Korvosa

The Stone of the Seers is mentioned in the Magnimar gazetteer in Pathfinder #2 as having a focus on abjuration and divination; it's located in the Keystone district.

As Christopher Adams pointed out, Korvosa has the famed (or infamous) Acadamae. The Acadamae only teaches specialist wizards (with heavy, heavy focus on conjurers, but also lots of enchanters). For a more well-rounded education, there's also another, much smaller wizard school in Korvosa.
