The price for this book is lower than usually but I'd rather pay more and have all new artwork. Slightly disappointing but understandable move from the Wizard living by the Coast. Somehow they have to keep down the cost for books in the transition phase.
Hopefully the content is usefull :).

I know they have rights to the art and all, but something feels "dirty" to me about them using the artwork outside of Dungeon or Dragon magazine.

They did this in the Grand History of the Realms as well.

Okay, I have no problem with them reusing artwork to save some money. From the web feature, I can see that they chose some really good artwork from the magazines.

But what cheeses me- if you're going to reuse it, DON'T CONFUSE WHO MADE WHAT. Carl Frank is getting attributed for a Peter Bergting piece, Peter Bergting is credited for a Kevin Walker and the list goes on. It's a simple matter of bumping each name to the left by one picture. They chose good stuff for the most part, I just wish they would get their shit straight for once.

And I think Matt Cavotta is a great artist, but not so great that he should get credit for pieces made by Steve Prescott. Holy Dammit Christmas!

lol I wonder what text the WAR illo of Cthulu stomping the WotC Iconics goes with ;)

I really want to know what text goes with that clockwork heart. Clockwork bionics at last!

I don't blame them for reusing art this close to the end of the edition. Why spend more money than you have to on books that aren't going to sell as well? In fact, I'll be surprised if we see a single new piece of art in any book that comes out between now and 4e.

Honestly, it's a backhanded compliment to us that they use so much art we commissioned. :)

It's also a little bit of a backhanded dis that they didn't use any pieces for which I wrote the art order. :\ Oh well, I guess they don't like gnomes. ;D

I believe it's on the page that talks about spell resistance. Which is certainly the D&D rule I most closely associate with those who are "dead but dreaming."

As evidenced by the number of gnomes in the DDM product line. I am awaiting reviews before I spend money on this book.

#46 is the Catlord I believe, don't remember where
#47 is the Epic Treasure Values picture from Epic Level Handbook - it's a beaut.
#79 - Cover of Hordes of the Abyss
Still looking through the rest - I recognized those eyes.. (#43)

Heh...look at the Star Wars Saga book. Not only did they recycle ALL art work and photos from previous editions, but they use the SAME artwork more than once in the SAME book.
