I just finished Corran, but I'm not feeling well, so Vesh is getting put on the backburner. I may be able to post some tonight or tomorrow, but weekends have become a not-very-good time for me to post in general, so don't be surprised if you don't hear from Vesh until Monday. Sorry all.
Hope you get to feeling better soon; I've been down with a bug too so it seems to be going around (even if we're in seperate parts of the country).

3. (175 gp + 2 craft points) Enchant shield (Shield of Faith)

Thank you. It seems like it's pretty run-of-the-mill Bronchitis at this point. Except that, because I have a pre-existing and persistant fungal infection in one of my lungs (looooong story that has occupied the last two years of my life), there is nothing run-of-the-mill about it. Anytime I get a bad cold or the flu, I have to call my lung doc. Kind of the pits.
Okay! Now I can stop feeling sorry for myself. Thanks for commiserating (as if I gave you a choice!!) .

HAd a great (well, average for Slidell,) post al typed up last night, and my PC internet went wonky, couldn't log into anything.
NOW I have a daughter running 103.4, I'm taking her to the doctor. I'll try and catch up tonight.
I'll make up for your having to wait with a little extra 'Slidell', (DOn't groan, you KNOW you like it!)
:P

I had my class of 13 5-6 year olds, who are all adorable. But they've become very bouncy lately, which in a warm studio over an hour along with some dinner and juice inside them leads some to complain of "feeling ill" or having a sore tummy.
So I get the ill ones a mug of water...
Cue even more pleas of illness and yet more mugs.
Actually... I think I'm the mug. Haha. But they are cute.
(Oh, I run a youth theatre group by the way)

BTW, Not-so-little daughter is feeling MUCH better today, thank you. (But she is still with me at work instead of at school.) But at least her 103 fever is gone now. (YAY!) Thanks for all the well-wishes!
(Of cpurse, now I'm pretty sure that the kids have given it to ME, That explains why last night's post made even less sense than usual!)
Will post asap, and make sure that any last minute items (I want a couple of alchemical items, etc,) are listed here so I'll be done with that!
Thanks!

I like how Vesh moves the action along. Cool writing!
Um... due to my absence and general 'numpitude' as we say round here, I have but one question at this point...
Who is Horatio?
He's the mustachioed man in grey (or blue), currently second-in-command of the town guard, who seems to show up at odd times and makes Vesh nervous (could he be following him/us)? He's been around since everyone's arrival in Sandpoint (what, six days and 1070 posts ago?). Vesh gives a pretty good explanation in his most recent post.
Could you offer a usable definition of "numpitude"? I like the word and may have to use it in the future.
And here's hoping that all sick kids (and their parents) get well soon!

FabesMinis |

Oh gosh... I (and Ehlissa) have been completely oblivious to him! :D
1. Numpty
Scottish usage:
a) Someone who (sometimes unwittingly) by speech or action demonstrates a lack of knowledge or misconception of a particular subject or situation to the amusement of others.
b) A good humoured admonition, a term of endearment
c) A reckless, absent minded or unwise person
a) "No. That wisnae wit she meant, ya big numpty!"
b) i.e. "Silly billy", "You big dafty"
c) "That numpty's driving with no lights on!"
I've only learnt it upon coming to Yorkshire from one of my colleagues. 'Numptitude' being her coinage for less than bright behaviour.

Ragadolf |

Thanks for the well-wishes!
And thanks for the reminder for the monday XP update! Indeed one of teh only good things about Mondays!
I have a word everyone, not as good as "Numpty" , but fairly useful in the New Orleans area,...
"Touron" = A Moron out of his native habitat.
(IE; 'Tourist' + 'Moron'='Touron')
Again, fairly useful in New Orleans or any other areas where the tourists usually show up with everything packed but their brains! :)
But Now I like 'Numpty', Now I have to find a way to use it at work! heheh,...

JSL |
Shiny! A new word I can use to malign other's intellects.
Glad your daughter's feeling better Rags, if you're lucky you won't get it too.
JSL, did I find a mwk rapier or a potion of mage armor at the market? What's the total cost of the two items?
yes.
mwk. rapier 200 gp x 0.8 = 160 gppotion of mage armor CL 1 = 50 gp

Where real life collides with role play...
"Bright Purple,... Shining Hair,... Could it,... naw, but,... an Assimar?!?" Slidell mumbles. He looks up from his one-sided conversation to the others. "Ameiko, did anyone ever refer to Nualia as an Assimar?" After Ameiko's reply he continues. "An Assimar is supposed to be a descendant of an Angel. Yes. A real, honest to gosh angel. Or at least part-angel, like half-elves, only shinier." He tries to explain, for lack of a better description.
How do you know that stuff? Was there something I missed somewhere?
I'm expecting my posts to be less frequent for the next few weeks: I've got a new job and another new project starting at the same time. I'll try to check in once every 24-48 hours. For once, I'm looking forward to slow-motion PbP combat. :)
"Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm very tired and I have a busy day tomorrow.
Well said.
Of course. You still have a lot of work ahead of you with your new position.
If only you knew... :)

Ragadolf |

Alright, so there was a LITTLE bit of meta-gaming there! But not much. ;P
OK, OK, BUT, there WERE enough low-key comments dropped by the DM for Slidell to jump to that possibility. However erroneous he might end up being! Heck, even certain races of elves might be seen as fairie in this area. We have ended up in a fairly humano-centric corner of the world! :) And I confess that the knowledge of Assimar's came from me knowing about them as a player, but with Sli's knowledge rolls, I think it's safe to say that he's heard of them! (Just trying to help keep things rolling, really,... don't hurt me!)
Kudos to the DM for dropping the subtle clues. I have a very hard time with that personally. I either make them so subtle as to be non-existent, or they beat the players over the head and say "HERE I AM!"
kudos on the new job Dreamer, I'm still struggling with the 'new' job I got 6 months ago!
See everyone soon!

As hyper as Sli usually is, makes you wonder,...
Does he sleep at all? or is he so worn out by his daytime activities that he sleeps like a baby?EDIT- Ehlissa is usually more outgoing than that,... wonder what's eating her?
I'm sure we'll find out all in good time.

Arctaris |

I added a level three version of Mal at the bottom of his page.
I got 5 more hit points
Reflex went up by 2
BAB went up by 1
For my 3rd level feat I took Dodge (going for Spring Attack)
Improved my Perception, Tumble, Bluff, Diplomacy, Sleight of Hand, and Swim skills.

Ragadolf |

OK, I've been motivated. I have a dream for Slidell. It won't have much to do with our plot line until/unless we manage to play thru another module or 2, but I thought it might be cool to see if I could glimpse what is actually going on in His head for a change!
:D
Actualy, i don't think it's nearly as cool as Ehlilssa's, but take it for what it's worth. :P

Salome's 3rd level preview:
+2 BAB
+3 FORT save
+1 REF save
+3 WILL save
So the net difference from your 2nd level values is +1 in all 4 stats.
HP: (how do you figure this out?)
Roll the d8 and take your result or 4, whichever is better. Add Con bonus. So you will get at least 5 but no more than 9 hp.
Skills: I need to figure this out too.
You get 4 skill points (2 for cleric, 1 for human, 1 for Int)
3rd level feat: Extra Turning
Is that everything?
You get 6 craft points, but likely don't have any money to make something at this time.
Also, you get to prepare second level spells now. You get 3 second level spells (1 for cleric, 1 for Wis score, and 1 domain spell). I think the 2nd level Glory domain spell is bless weapon, which is a good one, especially with a scimitar, because it allows your crits to automatically confirm (i.e., the second roll to see if the crit is really a crit automatically succeeds) and gives the weapon a good alignment, which is essential for overcoming the damage reduction of some Evil entities. It might be good to partner this with detect evil so you can tell the difference between Evil and evil.
You can also adjust your cure spell healing to 1d8+4 for clw and 2d8+4 for cure moderate wounds, your turning damage goes up to 4d6 (dang, that's powerful; I might need to adjust those rules), but the DC remains the same (it goes up with even levels).

HP: roll 1d8 (for being a Cleric) and add 1 for your Constitution Score. I think that JSL is allowing you to take your die roll or 1/2 your max hit die, whichever is higher. In your case it would be the die roll (+1) or 5 total hp for next level, whichever is higher. Right JSL?
Skills: Clerics get 2 skill points + their INT modifier each level. Also, humans get an additional skill point each level. That's a whopping 4 skill points for Salome. Class Skills, as listed under the Cleric entry in the Players Handbook, cost 1 skill point per rank. Cross-class skills cost 2 skill points per rank (more accurately, one point for half-a-rank, but I don't like having half-ranks on my character sheet (I'm OCD that way, I guess). Oh, at third level you can have up to 6 ranks in any one skill, max.
As in times past, my knowledge of certain D&D rules has proven spotty. BUT, I have to say that character creation rules I know pretty well.
I like how you wrote in getting your feat in the game thread. That was pretty cool.
EDIT: How am I supposed to waste time at work if everyone answers everyone else's questions? Sheesh.

It's MONDAY!!! (xp, xp, xp, xp, xp...)
Also, Vesh is leveled-up on the ol' Character sheet. If the party goes dungeon-delving before the actual level-up, then we'll have to do a little backwards engineering if we run into trouble, but that's easier than leveling-up last minute in my book.
If anyone catches anything that I missed please let me know.
The highlights:
--Staying with Spellthief
--Added 6 hp
--Added Precise Shot and Two-Weapon Fighting (spending 3 craft points)
--More skillful at stuff, yada yada
--Can now Steal Spell Resistance 10, w00t!
The lowlights:
--Still frowns
--Still blushes
--Still falls in love with all females in a 10' radius (except Salome who still scares him, despite tripping the light fantastic...)
Mazel Tov!!!

He hasn't fallen in love with Ehlissa, I notice... Hmmm?
Spending craft points, eh? Now that seems like a good idea!
So I can spend 3 craft points to gain a bonus feat? But I can only get one bonus feat per level? So that would leave me 9 craft points? (6+6-3)
How much would it cost in gp? That was the bit that really floored me...
Sorry for so many questions!

The craft point thing is for JSL to answer. I think that Ehlissa has a total of 6 craft points at 3rd level (2 per level), but I could be wrong. I forget what the stipulations are for adding feats. Maybe you only get to add them when you normally get to add a feat or something??? I didn't commit it to memory; I just tried to remember what Vesh could do for 3rd level. :(

JSL |
Craft points are 2 per CL and accumulate, so those who have spent none will have 12. Feats do cost money - the same as the material cost for making an "average" item of that level. Specifically, that is 300 gp to buy a feat at 3rd level. That represents some cost which you can RP as you see fit; e.g., paying a tutor, initiation fee in an order, etc. Since I don't think anyone is sitting on that much coin, it looks like you'll have to wait until you kill some baddies and take their money.

Awww. Looks like two-weapon fighting will have to wait.
EDIT: 2 points per what now? CL? Class Level?

I tried to give a (not-so) subtle clue about where I plan on taking Slidell in his dream. I believe that I have his next level all pre-viewed up and ready to go.
I have a fairly dramatic, (ok, fairly SLIDELL) moment semi-planned in my head for revealing his new abilities once he gets to 3rd level. My idea will work best if we are in combat, (and ya know, not dead yet or anything!) :)
I think that he is all updated gear and gold wise, and as ready to go as he will ever be!
Let's hit the tunnels and take out the trash!
