Argh, apparently I can't roll worth anything right now. I got a 10... unless we still get the flank bonus, in which case it would be a 12. In case that was a hit, the damage was 5
Malleon flails wildly with his longsword as he gasps for breath now that the wyrm is no longer crushing him.
Chalen
Chalen, caught barehanded when the wyrm breaks for daylight, topples over backwards before quickly righting himself.
May as well just proceed with my regular round, as I'm after the beastie.
Chalen fires a ray of scathing frost at the Wyrm, unfortunately shooting far wide of his mark (Ranged Touch = 3) and splashing the ancient tree with rime, before running over to where he dropped his crossbow.
Oso Legumbe
Normal go - unless the creature has a move action to go after the AOO and will escape my sight.
Oso's hand reacts without thought. He is bloody furious that the worm may escape. He flicks his wrist forwards and a handaxe from his belt spins out at the creature.
if the monster moves out of sight, Oso follows up, pulling the hand axe as he goes and throws it at the end. He can move 40ft so there is a good chance he will be able to see the beast.
Hand axe throw 18+5=23 (NO RANGE MODIFIERS INCLUDED). Damage 1+5=6

Sorry Oso, I forgot . . .busy week . . .allow me to amend
Louinor's spell goes off and the wyrm begins thrashing, as it begins to snake free of Oso, his companions take a few shots at the beast. Oso himself manages to get a free hand on his handaxe; he then plants it firmly in the beasts skull, a splattering of blood covers his face. The wyrm falls limply to the ground, it twitches once, tries to rise, then falls stone dead.
120 xp for everyone.

"One for all of us. Your magic made it fear us and then it was undone."
DM forget that stuff. No harm no foul. Game is very good indeed from my point of view and that is down to you and the other guys. Oso was on 395 before the 120.
Louinor
If we got a full nights sleep I am at 6hps and 7 Str if not 5hps and 6 Str.
Lounior throws down her morningstar and collapses on her bedroll. "Spiders... werewolves... and now giant snake things." she whispers to herself. "I just want to go to sleep and stay that way until day light!! Is that to much to ask!!" Louinor shouts into the forest.
"As you can see I don't do well on little sleep so wake me up if something else decides to eat use." Louinor rolls over and covers herself with her blanket.

Yeah, I thought I gave you guys a bonus 15 xp, but could not find where . . .I will pick up action tomorrow sometime, action will pick up in the morning after the attack.

Thanks!
The next two weeks will be pretty busy so I am up for taking a break or just expect that my posts will be a little further apart.
Dreamweaver if you win, I am sure you understand that Desna will leave you character and your strength poison will never recover. I am pretty sure that is in the SRD.
Just kidding, congrats and good luck.
As for taking a break. I will post some basic action catching things up to the morning and push us along towards the next encounter. I will start tomorrow; Dreamweaver, don't feel like you need to check in regularly or anything like that; if an encounter comes up we can run her for you.
Thanks again guys. . .I am enjoying this PBP greatly.
Oso Legumbe
Oso sleeps for a full eight hours. He needs it and the rages of yesterday made him bone weary.
Refreshed and alert, the barbarian begins a series of sword katas, gradually warming up to a sweat. Every now and then he winces with the pain of his slowly healing wounds.
Then Oso checks the horses over, feeding them as he goes. He hums happily as he works, eventually using an old rag to curry their coats.
Oso now has 5 out of 14 hit points.

Thankfully, the rest of the night goes by uneventfully. Everyone awakes to a chill morning and an overcast sky. Rain is threatening again
Everyone eats a light breakfast of rations and begins the search for the moss.
Everyone make a spot and a search check
Spot Check DC 14
Search Check DC 12
Chalen
If the strength damage is recovered from the remainder of the night's rest, Chalen will shinny up the tree to search for the moss (taking 10).
“Anything to get out of this place and get back to those idiot kids. Not looking down….not looking down.”
Louder “Are we sure the moss is here? I’m not seeing anything!”
Malleon Harper
Malleon make the spot check. But didn't we already "find" the moss on the tree last night, and were just waiting till daylight to climb up and get it?
"I'll climb up and get the moss, unless anyone else feels like tree climbing." Malleon says, as he looks around and stretches his back. Looking over at the dead wyrm from last night, he mutters "I hate this forest."
hmm... maybe I should take some of the claws or fangs as a trophy?
Oso Legumbe
I'm wearing the chain shirt now. I'll adjust my profile once I make this post.
Malleon has a lit torch and his longsword in hand as he peers about in the twilight.
Search 1d20+0 = 13
Malleon points with his longsword. "Up there, on the trunk. Is that Elderwood Moss?"
"Um... anyone have climbing gear? I've got a rope and grappling hook."
Malleon is right. He has found the moss already.
Oso pays little or no attention to the moss gathering, unless required.

Yeah guys I hate to do this, but I do need to put the game on hold . . .It is not just the open call, I am also a Senior English Major . . . I have 3 short stories I need to edit and begin shopping around, 1 short story I need to write; 5 poems I need to edit by the 19th, and a script that needs to be as good as I can get it by the 13th of December. Throw in an open call (which, not surprisingly is the #1 priority) and a girlfriend who is doing a medical internship and things are busy. Thankfully I love writing.
So let's put the game on hiatus for a bit. Sorry again guys.
* I am going to post this in my other games as well.

Real life always trumps gaming! I'll check back now and then, but it should give us time to rest up and regain all our hit points, eh? :-)
Aside from the real world stuff, I'm pretty sure that within the gaming spectrum, Open Call outlines (and hopefully full manuscripts) trump PbP games ;-)
Anyways, good luck and I'll be ready to pick this up whenever you are able to DM. Hopefully not till January though, cause that means you won the Open Call ;-)

Oh I imagine just a week or two really. Lets me knock out the outline and some school work . . .as for the game I really like it. Probably the most enjoyable PbP I've done. I want to take you guys past Falcon's Hollow at some point.
EDIT: Oh, and thanks!
Talion09
Bump . . . sorry for the continued delay guys -- I plan on submitting my final outline tomorrow and with some of my other business simmering down, I WILL post a recap and resume the thread tomorrow.
Don't worry about it. I personally wasn't expecting you to have your plate cleared until mid-november or so.
Besides, I'm busy thinking of the most awesome magic item ever for the RPG Superstar contest ;-)

Good luck on it. OK PBP stuff -- keep making promises and they don't pan out, so I took the time today to write out a recap of our adventures of late and will use that as the key to kick start everything. I am at work now, but I will post it soon, late, late tonight or tomorrow. Sorry for the wait.

Fireday, 4th of Lamashan.
The party awakens to autumnal sunlight pouring down through the forest canopy. The memories of the battle with the serpentine wyrm seem a fresh nightmare still. Bobek, most agile of the team, scampers up the tree to gather the moss.
I am kind of revisualizing the last bit of time to move us forward. Also for the record, it is about 7 am, and you are 1.5 hours away from the witch's hut.
Everyone make a Spot Check

Oso has pointed at what you are trying to spot. I should have said it clearer - sorry. Unless anyone doesn't look in that direction then you should be able to notice the ...
