Do you think you guys could make a few changes to the way PDFs download? Primarily I have two requests.
One - get rid of the "PDFs" folder in the rar/zip whatever. It's unnecessary for one file and makes is a slight nuisance.
Two - Crown of the Kobold King had a good filename, Conquest though has one that makes it unidentifiable and thus making me rename it. Another slight nuisance but not difficult to change on your end.
Ok now I'm gonna go read it ^^

We zip the PDFs, even single ones, because otherwise half the browsers out there will launch the Adobe Reader plug-in, and show the PDF in the browser window instead of downloading to a file on your drive. (There are HTTP headers we can add to the response that say, in effect, "No, really, download this and save it somewhere. But several versions of one very common browser ignore that header.
They get stuck in a folder called "PDFs" because some of our downloadable products also contain mp3 or other types of data files, which go into similarly named folders. It shouldn't do that for just a single file, and the folder should be named better if all the files in a download are all the same type, but I haven't had time to go over that code again.
I think Crown of the Kobold King may have had a human-readable filename because I may have processed that one manually. Conquest was handled by our importer code, and so you probably got a filename like "PZO9501E.pdf", which is its product code. Again, for a single-file download we certainly should be using the name of the product instead of its code.
The bad news is, I am completely swamped right now fixing bugs and doing a serious rewrite of our subscription handling code. The good news is, Pathfinder #1 is coming soon, and I'm going to have to rewrite our watermarker code so we can handle the onslaught of several thousand people personalizing and downloading it all at once. So I might have an opportunity to implement these fixes at that time.
