... Okay. I'll deal... my next turn is...

Leaning away from the wolf's bite, Geddoe swung his dagger frantically and rolled away from the beast.

Rolled a d20 + 2 = 4 on my attack and my tumble is d20 + 4 = 22. Tumbling as far away from the wolf as I can, parallel to the path. Going to bed. If another turn comes up and they're not dead or I don't have a flank, I'm going to withdraw back onto the path.

Where is Nerek now, and who's turn is it?

Male Half-Elf Bard 1

Laurent is up after wolves.

Laurent will cast Daze (DC 12) on the wolf about to attack him and then move to get the tree between him and the wolf.

After Laurent's declared action, you are 5' from him, 10' from Vishantos.

The wolf seems unaffected by your spell.

Male Dwarf lv 1 Cleric

I think its my turn, right? I apologize for the confusion, but I've had a little bit of trouble following the action for the last little bit.

Nerek will cast Cure Light Wounds on Laurent.

d8 +1 = 6. Sacrificing Bless.

Male Human Fighter 1

When it is my turn, Calar will advance to the nearest wolf and swing his hammer . . .Rolled 9+4+1 = AC 14; Damage is Rolled 1+2+1+1 = 5

Yes, it was your turn.

Everybody, please stop posting your full action ahead of your turn. It is confusing, and it invariably leads to you wanting to do something else because the situation has changed. I understand being excited, and wanting to post when you are online, but it really hurts the game play.

Initiative (Round 3):
Wolves: 20
Laurent: 17
Nerek: 16
Vishantos: 13
Geddoe: 8
Calar: 6

That would make it Vish's turn

He fires his crossbow at the wolf who was lined up on Laurent, hitting it hard, and knocking it over. It quickly regains its feet.

Geddoe

Sorry; wasn't sure if I would slow up gameplay so I posted ahead of time. Didn't need to bother, it seems, though.

Leaning away from the wolf's bite, Geddoe swung his dagger frantically and rolled away from the beast.

After his tumbling, Geddoe joins the other in a loose line. No one is more than 10' from anyone else at this point.

To one side, there is a severly wounded wolf with a crossbow bolt buried up to the feathers, on the other is an unwounded wolf.

Calar is in position to charge either one.

Calar's turn

Male Human Fighter 1

In fairness I will keep my previous rolls, unless Dragonmann deems otherwise. Calar will charge hitting an 9+4+1(st raise)-1 (large) +1 (bard) +2 (Charge) = 16, Damage is 5.

Calar charges at the wounded wolf swinging his hammer in a downward chop as he does so.

Liberty's Edge

Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1

Calar's hammer smashes the last vestiges of life from the injured wolf, and splatters it over everyone nearby.

On its turn, the other wolf sizes you gents up, then turns and runs off into the forest.

Looks like Calar and Nerek are the heroes in this battle! Still in initiative?

Liberty's Edge

Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1

Only if you (collective) want to chase the wolf into the woods... otherwise, it is late dusk, and you are near the shores of a lake. There is a dead hobgoblin here.

Male Human Rogue 1

And invite certain trouble? Hell no!

Geddoe sighed in relief as the wolf fled. Not letting down his guard, he sidestepped over to his companions, checking them over visually.

"That was..." he said, trailing off, before shaking his head. He then looked down at the hobgoblin ambusher. "What was this guy doing, attacking us...?" he asked quietly, noting his knife buried deep in his side.

'Damn... I did that...?' he thought.

Male Dwarf lv 1 Cleric

With the hunter dead, Nerek changes his mind about killing the fox.

"Calar, can you help me get this little guy free?" he asks. Once he's free, he'll cast CMW, sacrificing Detect Magic to make the fox stable. He'll then perform another heal check to see if the fox is out of danger.

d20 + 8 = 24

Male Human Fighter 1

Calar watched the remaing wolf flee, and then made his way over to help calm the fox and free it of the trap.

He looked at Geddoe. "I have no idea why he attacked us. It was a poor decision on his part."

Calar glanced at the darkening sky, "Camp?"

The warrior sat down and wiped the blood from his hammer, the first blood it had ever been bathed in.

Male Human Rogue 1

"Camp? Yeah... yeah, sure," Geddoe muttered, bending over the hobgoblin's body. He yanked his dagger out of the hobgoblin's side with a sickening squelch, and cleaned it off the best he could. After cleaning the dagger, he tucked both of the daggers in their sheathes, and searched the ambusher's body.

Taking twenty on my search check, for a 25.

Sorry for the delay

Searching the hobgoblin hunter, and the surrounding area you find:
17 pp
60 gp
28 sp
14 cp
Master work Trapsmithing tools
Master work Dogcutter
Master work Longsword

As well as a mundane shortbow, a quiver of 8 arrows, 50' of rope, a backpack and a bedroll, as well as enough field dressed animals for 8 rations.

Setting up camp here should be fairly easy, you have a water supply, and foot. Make any arrangements you wish.

The fox is out of immediate danger, though obviously still pained and skittish. (Vishantos will have to perform the binding ritual to get it as a familiar)

If the dogcutter is a simple weapon, I call dibs. Need a backup weapon.

Geddoe counted up the coins, and did a brief bit of math, before sorting out the pieces. "Hey," he called out as he divided the coins on the ground. "Split up most of the wealth here, and I'll try to work something out for the rest tomorrow. Also, I'm gonna stick this gear in the pack, unless you want it."

Each character gets 3 plat, 12 gold, 5 silver, and 2 copper.

Male Human Fighter 1

Calar will help sort the equipment and make camp. He makes no move to ask for the longsword and if it is brought up he mentions he prefers his hammer for now, though he will comment on the superior craftsmanship of the sword. Calar will volunteer for first watch.

Your camp is secure through the night, with no further dangers approaching you.

You are on the South East shore of the lake, cutting through the trackless forest to the Eldest Tree is going to take almost 8 hours, unless you have other plans.

Male Dwarf lv 1 Cleric

Nerek will take time out to prepare his daily spells.

He offers to cast longstrider on himself so as not to slow down the party as much with his slower speed.

With the spell, and hustling during its duration, you could reach the tree in 3 hours

Male Human Fighter 1

This is good by Calar.

Male Human Rogue 1

Geddoe will grumble about it, as he is the downer of the party. Of course, he has no real objections.

Male Half-Elf Bard 1

"Off we go!"

Liberty's Edge

Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1

The dense trees and thick brush of the forest give way, parting seemingly in respect for the titanic darkwood tree that dominates this
clearing. Several times taller than a temple minaret, in one direction the obviously ancient tree reaches into the sky with branches like a
giant’s arms, while in the other it plumbs the earth with roots thicker than a man’s waist. Its limbs broad and strong, its bark thick and
so richly colored as to almost be black, and its leaves the size of bucklers, the giant thing is less a tree and more a cathedral of boughs
and branches.

Spot checks all around

Male Human Rogue 1

... I see a tree!

Male Human Fighter 1

Calar's spot check is 1d20+2 = 6

Male Dwarf lv 1 Cleric

1d20 + 2 = 11

Nerek stands in awe of the giant tree. It's the biggest tree by far he's ever seen.

Male Half-Elf Bard 1

4 = d20 - 1
Laurent whistles through his teeth. "I've ne'er seen the like of it."

Liberty's Edge

Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1

NPC roll for Vish... 5-1=4

so you are near a big tree... waddya do

Male Human Rogue 1

"... Wow. They grow big around here, huh?" Geddoe cracked his knuckles. "Well, let's get to work, and find this moss or whatever it is."

Searching, searching, searching... d20 + 5 = 14...

"... Does anyone remember what this looks like?"

Male Dwarf lv 1 Cleric

"I think its a brownish-green," Nerek answers as he starts to help Geddoe search.

d20 + 1 = 6

Liberty's Edge

Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1

Geddoe walks over to the tree, and easily discerns the moss growing on the trunk from the description the healer provided. He turns around, holding it aloft as if to say 'I've got it', and watches as a long snake like creature rises up out of the leaves along the trail and attempts to bite and claw at Calar:

Bite - Hit AC 19 for 5
Rake - Hit AC 21 for 2
Rake - Hit AC 16 for 3

Initiating a grapple with improved grapple = 13

(The creature charged this round, and used its pounce ability)

Someone roll initiative for everybody:
Tatzylwyrm Initiative - 22

Male Dwarf lv 1 Cleric

Inits:
Calar: d20 + 1 = 21
Vish: d20 + 2 = 13
Geddoe: d20 + 7 = 10
Laurent: d20 + 3 = 8
Nerek: d20 + 1 = 3

Liberty's Edge

Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1

Initiative Table: Round 1:
Tatzylwyrm: 22
Calar: 21
Vish: d20 + 2 = 13
Geddoe: d20 + 7 = 10
Laurent: d20 + 3 = 8
Nerek: d20 + 1 = 3

I rolled for Calar's opposed grapple (assuming he didn't want a big green snake with arms giving him a hug) and he got a nat 20... which i found an even more irritating waste of a natural 20 then the tatzylwyrm's initiative roll...

anyway.

The worm continues to try and eat Calar:

bite: AC 7
claw: AC 6
claw: AC 19 Damage 3

Calar's go

Male Human Fighter 1

Calar staggers under the swift onslaught of the beast, but withdraws his hammer and swings. "Help me!"

sorry for delay . . .marked damage down - 13hp I have 4 left. rolls a 1d20 = 16+4 = 20, dmg = yeah !! 10!

You only took ten damage; 16 doesn't hit you flatfooted.

Yeah, see that now. Calar is down to 7 hp. We did equal damage to each other . . ahhh how cute!

roll 11+2=13, damage=1

I'm back, although I've only quickly skimmed the action I missed.

Your attack misses.

Geddoe's go. You are 25' away from the action where you were gathering the moss. I'll assume you had a dagger in hand to cut the moss from the tree.

Male Human Rogue 1

If I can flank, I'll run up and stab. If not, I'll close in to ten feet away and take a defensive position.

Attack roll d20 + 1 + 2 (flank) = 11. No go, if I attack.
