this is one of the weirdest things on the Internet - Celtic Frost covering a Wall Of Voodoo song. The mind, it boggles.

Why, I don't even.... Since off-beat (or, maybe, uncalled-for) cover versions seem to be a trend on this page, I give you:

How You Remind Me

ayup - this is Avril Lavigne covering Nickelback. The mere existence of this song causes hipsters everywhere to spit blood.

When is a Lich not a Lich? When it's really more of a Death Knight, and suffers the indignity of being one of the easiest bosses in the game, to boot...but what a theme song!

Question/Comment on Game Rules:

How should we handle things like patronymics, particularly the Scottish "Mc" that would otherwise homogenize a much broader range of letters?

Also, I've always gone by surnames when the "band name" is actually the name of an individual - I notice there's been a lot of not doing that (obvious stage names that are as much the name of their band, such as "Marylin Manson," "Snoop Dogg," and "Weird Al Yankovic," present another wrinkle - in fact, each of those 3 suggest their own). Of course, when it's "This Guy and The Band," like above, one can respond to either individual surname or band name. I'm trying to have a consistent formula here.

I think its been pretty loose here. Wings as your example above gives you a P M C W to work with if you want. The Animals gives you T A, right? and if someone wrote out Eric Burden and the Animals that would be E B T A to work from? I think theres been some stretches of those rules even. I think there have been numbers used and ? and the Mysterians and !!! add their own craziness.

Return

Norwegian 80s hair rock, which should be right up DN's alley. This song is about traffic safety, not a topic one usually covered in the genre.

thanks for Return..though its a bit like those traveling groups that came to our high school and tried to trick us into following rules with rock band flashiness. Ive been listening to the 'best of' on youtube. They're all ...ummm After-School-Special-ish lyrically. Maybe these guys were supported by a government grant? Anyway, lighters up for em!

Arch Enemy do great covers (though I'm no fan of their versions of The Zoo or Walk In The Shadows). The original version of Book Of Heavy Metal is so cheesy it makes Manowar look like The Clash.
