Any of you went to the WotC website lately???
They've got a new survey concerning paper based d&d... I am not sure toward where they are going, but they seem to be taking a direction that is scaring me a bit (well, I am easily scarable).
I told them that I was loosing interest in their products (especially their website) and I was switching to Paizo.
Go team Paizo !!!
Anyways, did anybody else participate to the survey ??? What do you think they are planing ??

Sounds like something Wizards would do....Poop in your face.
Oops...sorry. Mis-read that..... My bad.

I just took the survey, and it didn't sound that ominous to me, especially coupled with what they have already said about their stated intent with the DI. I think that they made the distinction about weather you play the roleplaying game because there are people that play DDO or the minis game that don't play the RPG, and the survey was directed at pen and paper players.
They intimated in some interveiw (I've read so many I've lost count now) that if they get this "MySpace for Gamers" concept going, that they might have a board or place online to post fan developed rules and such to share with others. I think that could be fun, since I already do this sort of thing at Candlekeep all the time.
I don't know how useful a peer rating system with be, however, given that I've seen some of the posters that frequent WOTC's boards. I can see any article that mentions Forgotten Realms, for example, having a ton of brilliant observations like, "Thsi is teh sux bcauz i hate elemeneister and driszzet." Likewise brilliant comments and ratings for those that don't like Eberron, etc.
Anyway, I chimed in. The only way they will know what we want is if we tell them.

I saw that post as well, but the date on it is back in January of 2006.
I have not been able to find the survey...

Yeah - that's a post for an old survey.
I went to Wizards and Firefox blocked my pop-up. After I told it wizards.com was okay, I couldn't get the pop-up to come back following multiple refreshes. I also tried using Internet Destroyer to no avail.
My thought is that the survey might be keyed to the unique IP address so no one can take it multiple times. Who knows...

So this Gleemax crap is Wizards big idea for making content online??? Wow if it is, all i can say is the hobby is screwed....
Not screwed, we have Pathfinder now. And I'm sure all of us have enough core rule books and supplements and minis to last us through yet another D&D slump. We will always prevail.

Look at Star Wars RPG they get almost no support and alot of people game with that system. All you need is some core rule books graph paper some freinds and the gaming starts. Don't let the bean counters steal you game.
