Generally they'll be quite a bit longer and more in-depth than the magazine adventures, will enjoy a longer development/editing period, and, as Lilith says, they'll offer ideas and adventures that we couldn't put into an approved licensed product.
Mostly, though, you'll buy them because they are so awesome. :)

I love me some high production value, especially if it's usable in the game and not just for the DM's eyes. However, I've gotta call your bluff on this one. What part of "players against an evil Kobold King and his minions who've spilled forth from their dungeon to menace a local village" couldn't you put in a licensed product?
As always, though, you guys get high marks for even answering questions like this.

Maybe even stuff that their WotC overlords won't let them do in Dungeon.
Oh, most definitely. So much fun!
I can't wait to see the pro-values of the line too! The point Erik brings up about development is truly awesome. The break-neck pace reality of magazine publishing is hardcore, and lots of things needs-must be pared down to fit the space available, resulting in some choppa-chop of lots of cool concepts, encounters and scenes (though the Dungeon staff are masters of keeping "the cool," and improving manuscripts tons even as they whittle them down - you guys rock!).
These new Gamemastery modules allow for much more juicy goodness than your standard Dungeon adventure.

I don't want to speak too much out of turn, but "Crown" does not need to obey WotC "dogma," censorship, or their code of ethics (which while great in some ways, can stymie an author's vision...afterall, we don't allow censorship in film or literature, why kowtow to it in adventure writing?).
One of my favorite aspect of these modules is our ability to generate totally new material (monsters, magic items) that don't need to get the WotC stamp of approval.
Scope out Kobold King and you'll see what I mean.

Question for the esteemed Mr.Logue, what level will this module of yours be starting out at? I know it says low level but is this a 1-3 level module, 2-5, or 3-6? I would love to replace Sunless Citadel with a Nick Logue original as my starting out favorite.

The adventure is for 2nd level PCs. There might be a little something in the works to start your group off at 1st, but that is still coming together. Expect an announcement soon.

Ah! This explains Christopher's praise earlier! Thanks Jason! :-)
2nd level it is...though I imagine running it for level one PCs wouldn't require too much adjustif!#@.
