Greetings all.
Got #139 yesterday and read TiNH at work between calls (one of the few perks to working in a call center). Mr Jacobs, exemplary work. I'd love to see what was in the 9k words you had to cut for space.
Now, as for the problems. One of my player's eyes lit up when he read in the STPG that there is no major thieves guild in the city. He will be playing a ninja from the shadowshore district and stated that he'll want to either establish his own thieves guild that'll take control of the city, or infiltrate the Lotus Dragons and take them over.
He told me all this before I got the module. I figured, sure why not, if I can fit a side trek in that doesn't ruin the over-all plot of the AP. Now that I have the first installment . . . yikes. I don't see any way around the fact that he'll try to convince the group to take Rowyn's offer. Furthermore, I'm sure once he's in the Dragon's he'll try to overthrow her.
How difficult of a job would it be to compensate the later modules to allow my player his theives empire? Any idea's?

Actually... we're hoping on including a "Switching Sides" sidebar in every adventure that gives some tips and pointers on how to adjust the adventure if the PCs take up Rowyn on her offer to join the Lotus Dragons. These tips work just as well if the PCs decide to take over the Lotus Dragons without her consent or aid, of course. The theme of the campaign changes from one of exploration and colonization to one of greed and theft, but as you get closer to the end of the campaign and the true menace raises his two heads, it won't really matter who the PCs work for...
