Savage Species in Savage Tide?

Liberty's Edge

I was thinking also on this AP the party could lean a little more towards the scruffy side of life. Maybe out at sea you don't look a half orc over quite as much.
I feel inevitably there'll be a ship involved getting to the Isle of Dread. I'd like the experience to be a little more akin to walking into Mos Eisley cantina and less like a trip to a yacht club... "ahoy, mcRoy!"
I see kenkus in the crow's nest, and kobolds over the sides on scaffolds tarring the boards; maybe a half ogre heaving on the anchor. The guy at the wheel from a distance looks like he has two wooden legs, but when you come closer they're really hooves. The kind of place where QueeQueg would stick out like a sore thumb as the preppy of the class.
Any other idears?

Hm . . . that sounds like some of the pirate ships that Duedermont and company ran into in RAS' Passage to Dawn.

gah....now I have a song parody in my head....

"There's kenku off the starboard bow...starboard bow, starboard bow. There's kenku off the starboard bow, starboard bow, Jim!"

Gah...Now I'm gonna have Dr Demento in my head all day...

"Where are the Cheetos!!"

Scarab Sages

"We come in peace...hack 'em to bit! Hack 'em to bits! Hack 'em to bits!
We come in peace...hack 'em to bits! Hack 'em to bits! Hack 'em to bits!
...Zock teleport me out!!"

Yeah, me too, Lilith

Well, any kind of proof notwithstanding, I do agree that it seems like a fertile are for 'non-standard' races to be used. Fiendish dinos don't care if you're a human, halfling, goblinoid, or minotaur...they just hope you're good aligned and tasty!

And when you're in armor, you're kinda like chocolates - crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside! Yum! *crunch crunch*

Here's a blast from the past then.
