SPOILERS!!!!
Celeste's background is provided in the hardcover. She is the ghaele eladrin emissary of a powerful wizard with concerns over recent events in Cauldron. While the PCs are off rescuing Zenith, she goes poking around amongst the Cauldron nobility, gets a little too close to "the real ruler of Cauldron," and finds herself magically imprisoned in an object d' art that is later discovered by the party in Oblivion. The Age of Worms AP assumes that she was freed by intrepid adventurers during the SCAP as she has a role with PCs in the second adventure path as well . . .

What Celeste really is, has been cleared out in the HC.
But what about her supposed background, besides that she is a noble from Sasserine staying in the Cusp?
I introduced her during the Demonskar ball, where she danced with the elven priest of the group. Unfortunately, he has become interested and want to know more about her.
Has anyone invented a background for her? Family name (Celeste who?), history, posessions like a mansion, etc....
Thank in advance.

That sounds like a really good way to get that PC hooked on part of the storyline. Let him investigate her and dig up nothing, let him run into her and have her be all secretive and mysterious about her past. He'll probably get more and more intrigued by her as time goes by. Then when chapter 6 is over, bam, she's gone seemingly without a trace. You now have a great reason for the party to do the necessary research for digging up the bad guys in chapters 7 and 8, after which she can reveal what she actually is and why she couldn't say anything previously.
My 2 cents.

In my game Celeste is the daughter of the arch angel that was Addimarchus' mentor and who eventually sentenced him to exile from heaven.
I hinted at this in one of my write ups in Skye's Treasury - the Cloak of Chrisma - if anyone has seen the document.
Celeste's background is a mystery because she has not been on the material plane for long and been sent/fled to the region to discover the truth behind her mothers death (sacraficed herself on the battlefield which ripped the land from the heavens and triggered its decent into hell), and to stop the city in becoming an bastion of evil.
She is unaware that the two are connected.
I have not excluded Celeste's AOW background and motivations.
This is all just raw ideas at the moment but its the way I'm heading currently with the beautiful angel.

Thats almost exactly what happened in my game. Our warmage took an instant liking to celeste when he saw her at the ball and again when she asked them to save zenith. He was really upset when they couldn't find her again afterwards, and in some ways it was his looking for her that led them to discover where she was hidden after.
I ended up changing quite a bit of the endgame around because of it, the player spent a lot of time doing things like making one of the others call her as a planar ally even when nothing was going around town, so when she asked what task he wanted of her he could ask her out. Even gave her the planar ally fee in a ridiculous number of flowers.
I ended up having celeste sort of stick with the group and let nidrama fade more into the background as they were actively pursuing that avenue. I am going to work a lot changes that we made in the campaign and the players made to the region itself into AoW so that they can see their lasting impact. I think that seeing Celeste and perhaps having her mention her previous interest will be an interesting way of adding to that.

Delvesdeep, again I would be greatly interested in learning more of your brain droppings on this matter - who/how/when/where/why etc you use these people.
Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not really sure how Nidrama vs Celeste really play into the campaign.
The cagewrights thread you wrote and gave excellent info and ideas of when to introduce them should be a springboard for the need and idea of making such a post about certain important allies and benign NPCs as well!
That way we can be sure to "foreshadow" events etc surrounding them....

'Brain Droppings.....' I haven't heard that one.
My idea on Celeste is only a very recent one so I'm just figuring out the details myself.
But basically -
Nidrama is Adimarchus love.
Her role in my game is to firstly meet the party and award them Alakast during Chapter 5.
Then reappear much later when the party learn that she was Adimarchus love and they rescue her from Embril during Chapter 11.
Nidrama then assists the party in learning about Adimarchus crime and how he may be saved.
In Chapter 12 she helps the party through Skullrot and then, with the help of the party, gives him an opportunity to save his soul and lift Occiptus back into the heavens.
Celeste is the daughter of the Arch Angel to sentenced Adimarchus to exile.
Celeste is a child in angel terms. She is innocent and niave. She has been sent to Cauldron to find out more about the evil planar disaster that has been foretold by her superiors.
Her mother was the Haloen (see Dream 2 and 3)who sentenced Adimarchus and who sacraficed herself on the battlefield to save the heavens from the dark wave he intended to wash over it.
I intend on having her tell the party the story of her mother later in the adventure path if they have made a connection with her. If she learns that the evil that is befalling Cauldron stems from the 'Dark Angel' who was responsible fore her mother death she may try and assist. More likely than not she will be able to offer no real help but will give the party further motivation.
During the Final Nightmare Realm adventure when the ghost of Haloen guides the players around, telling Haloen of her daughter will allow her to be at peace when they finally defeat Adimarchus' Inner Demon. She may even assist the party in this battle.
So this is how it all plays out.
The reason why this is not part of the document 'Alternative Adimarchus and the Cagewrights' is because I've only just concieved of the idea :)

In terms of your comments above, do you mean that I should include all my NPC foreshaowing ideas into one document and not just the Cagewrights and Adimarchus or do you mean we should begin a thread her and go through each NPC one at a time?
What do you mean? I think I've confused myself ;)

What I'm referring to is the recent thread as to the new cagewrights etc. In that thread you list each one of the major players and their role. But you also indicate info as to WHEN they first appear, but more importantly, when a DM should try to introduce them ahead of time by cleverly foreshadowing.
I merely meant as a suggestion that now that we have the "bad guys" under wrap and understood, it may be helpful to many (including myself) if DMs who have already experienced much of this campaign arc, to give ideas as to when and how to begin foreshadowing and introducing some of the important NPCs.
What I'm trying to avoid is a breach of believability when someday down the road I suddenly introduce a very important NPC into the campaign due to his/her appearce via the written text of the book; but because I didnt know ahead of time that this character would prove to be so important I never mentioned him/her earlier, and the players are left thinking: if this NPC is such an important role in this town why then have they never heard of him/her before.
Some of them are obvious like Jenya - hell you meet her in the first couple games, but others down the road are not so plainly defined until their sudden appearance in the SCAP.
Am I making any sense at all?
Robert
