Subdivisions?

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

I really appreciate these boards, the discussions are often very helpful to my game. However, what are the chances, particularly with the adventure path boards, of providing a subdivision under those headings for each issue? It would allow those readers who are at a particular point in their campaigns to easily add, find, and study relevant posts for each adventure.

I second this. The search tools help, of course, but it would be nice, given the huge amount of threads and postings, if the stuff pertaining to specific modules could be subdivided for easy access for DMs who, say, want to review all the major threads about a particular module before starting it.

I'd rather have a sticky post with an index of the threads by adventure. Having separate subdivided forums is a bit of a pain IMO.

Edit: Or, maybe I'm being dense. By subdivision, do you mean a little header at the top of the thread, like 3FOE?

No, I meant a full subdivision. An addition to the header would be somewhat helpful but the divisions is what I meant. If my campaign has progressed to the 6th installment of an adventure path, that's the info I would like to access easily - not all the stuff we've already gone through, not the stuff half a year away.

What are your thoughts on the index? Assuming that someone is willing to take on the project and Paizo is willing (and able?) to sticky the thread, that would be a good stop gap until (or in lieu of) the boards are subdivided.

Edit: Though come to think of it, the problem with an index thread is that the edit function is limited in the amount of time that can pass between the edit and the post.

Hmmm...some form of organization sure would be nice though.

If everyone stuck something like "135" for the mag issue in front of their post, it would at least be an indicator.

A subcategory on the boards for each issue might lead to many threads being squirrelled away. By the tenth issue, I'd have to check ten boards just in case someone posts something interesting on an adventure I've already run. Not all threads necessarily discuss something limited to a single issue.

I do like the idea of prefixing threads with the issue number where relevant, like so:

#135: Should I let the PCs keep Kyuss' morningstar?

I like that idea... now to just get everyone else to endorse it!
