Cartoon characters???

Dragon Magazine General Discussion

I've seen these cartoon characters (in the avatar image list) in Dragon magazine and other stuff. Which artist did these images? Where were they originally published (Issue???)? I recognize many of the non-cartoon images from recent Dragon or Dungeon issues.

Thanks,
Randy

They resemble Kyle Hunter's style to me, but I haven't seen anyone's name attributed to them.

You are correct. Assuming you are talking about the "cartoon" style drawings of classic D&D monsters found here and in the pages of Dragon and Dungeon, they are indeed the excellent work of Kyle Hunter.

Good stuff, huh?

I likes 'em. I haven't figured out how to use them (I haven't actually tried yet - not much of a computer guy), but I likes 'em. Tell Kyle to keep it up.

He also does Downer, which is so artfully drawn and amazing in its colors that I have little post-it notes in my Dungeon mags next to his Downer strips--that way, from time to time, I can re-read through all the installments with as little interruption as possible, like it's a comic book.

Downer is on the bleeding edge of coolness, IMHO.

Go, Kyle!

Downer is pretty good. He's actually one of the highlights of most Dungeon issues I read.
