King of the Castle releases Trade Bars as part of our GameMastery line!

A while back, we introduced you to Campaign Coins. The notion of using physical coins to represent the mounds of loot commonly found in fantasy RPGs excited us so much that we convinced King of the Castle Games to bring them into our GameMastery accessory line and allow us to distribute them around the world!

At Gen Con earlier this month, we added a new set of items to the line-up. Our new Trade Bars offer a high-quality fantasy monetary system using actual metal bars—it's much more immersive than scribbled numbers on your character sheet. Trade Bars create more opportunities for creative roleplaying as you hand over cash at your local tavern, bribe a town guard to look the other way, or pay passage to the next exotic port! They come in three different packs of 12 copper-toned bars: denominations of 1, 2, and 5; 10, 20, and 50; and 100, 500, and 1,000.

GMs everywhere, reward your players with hard cash the next time they plunder that long-forgotten tomb! They've earned it!

Unless I am missing something (I was born in the Mwangi expanse), I do not see a need for this. In fact, why weigh down my bag with metal bills when i need the room for splat books and rule sheets. I would rather see a player condition deck from Paizo that can be usefull when i paralize or stun folks.

The Exchange

Yet another prop that I'd like, but don't have the money for. :( Just like the Campaign Coins. :(

And unless I sorely mistaken, there is minimal work put into these on Paizo's part; King of the Castle Games is the one actually making it, Paizo just gets them (presumably) a fair bit more business by including it in their GameMastery line. Not to mention that Paizo most likely would get some small amount from them too, as they are using one of their lines.

I've looked at the Campaign Coins before but it seemed like such a huge investment to get any useful amount of coinage. With the addition of the large denomination trade bars, it seems easier to break into the large denomination end of it.

I might be inclined to pick up a package of these for the novelty whether I decide to use them or not.

Sovereign Court

Wow, those look awesome. I wish I could afford to buy a bunch of them.

Liberty's Edge

Love them and like the ideas put forth by Sean and Vic.

I'll be picking up a few sets closer to AK permanent fund dividend time. ;-)

I went ahead and ordered two packages of the high value bars, as well as some campaign coins. (I talked myself into it.)

What were the ideas put forth by Sean and Vic?
