Work has started on Genghis Con XXX, taking place at the Four Points by Sheraton in Denver Colorado. Genghis Con is the largest game convention in the Rocky Mountain region and we want you to come celebrate our 30th anniversary in February of 2009.
The painting conference and competition has something for everyone. If you have been collecting those beautiful Pathfinder minis then its time to learn to paint them. We have classes from the beginner to the advanced level. Our painting competition features the standard gaming convention Trophy competition for 12t-3rd places plus this year we will be introducing the Open Judging exhibition. In Open Judging you are (or are not) awarded medals for the quality of your work and not how it compares to the other exhibitors. Unlike the trophy competition there is no limit to the number medals that can be given out. If your miniature is gold medal quality you will get a gold medal (okay not real gold but its the thought that counts).
In addition to the new judging system we will be adding a Best Theme award that will be for the best painted Mongol or Mongol lifestyle display in the competition. To help you along with that Hasslefree miniatures will be sculpting a limited edition 30th Anniversary Mongol just for Genghis Con that will be available in January 2009.
Oh and there is lots of gaming too. Boardgames, RPGs, tabletop miniatures and CCGs. So visit our website www.denvergamers.com and check out the details. For the most part event information is not available till late November early December. But take the time to block out your calender to attend; Genghis Con February 12-15th 2009.
