The Vanishing

Shackled City Adventure Path

Hello all

I am a little confused by the disease called 'The Vanishing' which is present in the big dungeon crawl in Chapter 1.

In the HC, it states that the potential victim gets an initial saving throw against the disease. It then goes on to mention that making saving throws does not cure the victim of the disease.

So my question, if a PC makes his initial saving throw, is he not impacted by the disease at all? Or does it just take a day longer to incubate and you need to make saves each day until he is either cured or succumbs to the disease?

Thanks :)

Dark Archive

He wouldn't be afflicted by the vanishing.

Grand Lodge

As long as he passes the first saving throw, he is fine. If he fails, he must make a saving throw every day, and needs magical assistance to remove the disease.

Scarab Sages

Since I set my game in Golarion I decided to make The Vanishing a variant of The Bleaching, which only affects Gnomes. Since the party didn't have any gnomes I didn't have to worry about the specific affects on them. However now that the word is out in Cauldron that Jzadirune has been rediscovered there might be gnomes looking to repopulate it...
