I just downloaded this yesterday, and can't wait to start using it. Just to let folks know, however, the system requirements don't tell you that you'll need Microsoft .NET Framework, but when I went to install it that message came up. Luckily, you only need the original 1.1 version.
Make sure you read http://www.profantasy.com/service/technical.asp?Q=&ID=68 for some other information about the 1.1 dotNet package.
Vista users, make sure you run it as Admin (via context menu), not just using admin account, when you install it.
A great product for some classy game maps, though I would recommend watching the tutorials first.

These are about the best product I've used for gaming maps. Yes, you have to spend a little time to really get going but it's worth it. Once you have the basics, you'll be ripping maps out in no time.
If you have DD3 and City Designer 3, you can hyper-link those maps to your Campaign Cartographer world maps.
As stated above, download the tutorials - they are excellent - and get into it.
Lastly, if you're in to miniatures etc and you're sick of re-sizing, DD3 makes this process simpler for battle maps.

I'm not sure what this means or how to do it.
As for learning the system, it seems very similar to CC2, which I had and enjoyed using. Both programs seem to me to have some elements of AUTOCAD, which I'm also familiar with.
Either way, I'm looking forward to working on some maps.

In case anyone is interested, Campaign Cartographer is based on Fastcad. It always has been as far as I know. Currently it uses Fastcad 6.5. I used to use the CadView (Same creator - Evolution Computing)program for display during my game while waiting for the latest viewer from ProFantasy.
I've been using CC for over 15 years. While the original learning curve is steep for non-cad users, no other map software has had the longevity and staying power of the CC lineup. I've used many ( I think almost all) other apps that were not CAD based and while easy to learn they are also easy to hit a productivity cap.
I can't imagine using anything else.. take the time, do the tutorials and head over to ProFantasy and use their forums. You won't be sorry
