So it has been one year since I first found my way to these boards, and what a pleasure it has been.
PFO is really developing in a direction I’m mostly happy with, and there has been nothing to convince me that this will not be a game I won’t be playing for many years.
The interactions that I have had on these forums, both friendly and contentious have been valuable to me and time well spent. Yes I know at times I can be belligerent, abrasive and even caustic at times, but it is never meant to be personal. If taken that way, I apologize for my part or hope that you get passed it on your part.
I think we are all looking to get to the same place, a great game!!
So, here is my thanks and looking forward to many years to come as a part of this community.

As one of those who has sometimes had some of the "contentious" interactions with you, Bludd, all I can say is that these boards would be a lot poorer without your posting. We may not always (or even often) agree on things, but PFO needs your viewpoint expressed, and you certainly have a unique way of expressing it.
So my thanks to you for your "belligerent, abrasive and even caustic at times" posting - PFO will be nothing if it has no conflict, and I think you have established beyond all doubt that this will not be the case.
Wishing you and the UNC all the best for 2014,
Lhan

Hear, hear! Bludd, you have almost become the voice of the pathfinder forums. Your delirious posts have made me see a different view. Thanks :)
Aeioun
They certainly have. Aeioun's recent "Who let all the carebears in?" is proof of that (even though I haven't been here as long).
Without you and the good folks at UNC, these forums would certainly make me feel pretty lonely as a PvPer. Definitely glad we have you all around.
Best,
-Qallz

Agree with this statement. While I tend not to agree with those views (at least not initially), it certainly does me good to try to understand them.
Short story: You've severely increased my expectation of being ganked, but somehow decreased my worry of being ganked.

If I take your meaning correctly, that is a goal of mine, even if indirectly so. It would be my most important accomplishment if I could in some small part break MMO players from their "protectionist and fanatical view for their material things." I know that might sound nuts, because I do this by taking those things for myself, but I fully expect that someone may come along and take them from me as well and I'm ok with that.
In my opinion, World of Warcraft had introduced (or if not introduced, certainly made it a centerpiece)the syndrome of what I call "Loot Monkeyism". It as caused by first, the best gear being rarely dropped. The best gear being the result of a raid dungeon. That raid dungeon having to be run over and over again. Then when you finally completed your set and you felt like, "I am the Greatest Player in the Universe", what amounted to new content for Blizzard's lazy developers, was to change the color and slightly upgrade the gear. Marketing genius, but the quality of the community and the game suffered.
The very thought of player looting in WoW, would send the loot monkeys into a tizzy, with threats of rage quitting.
As EVE Online has done in large measure, it has done much to change the minds of some. "Don't fly what you can't afford to lose" is a mantra of EVE.
I have a feeling, losing loot in PFO is going to be even easier than in EVE but there will at least be partial threading (so you won't lose "My Precious" to the nasty little Banditisss).
I thank you all for your kind words, and you too are much appreciated for your contributions to these forums.
These forums get me to think, laugh, get riled up, get silly, stupid, smart and most of all learn!
Everyone, including all of those I argue with most, contribute greatly to my experience here. PFO is already my favorite MMO! We are already playing with the most active EE people we will likely meet in the game.
Thank you most of all to Goblin Works (Ryan, Devs and Moderators)and Paizo (Lisa and gang).
GW for developing a game I hope to play for a decade or more. Paizo for providing the IP / setting of PFO, and for having these boards tagged as "Publisher" so I can view them from work!!!

I hardly ever post but wanted to at least give a "Hear Hear" to this thread. I read all the blogs and PFO forums and got in on the Kickstarter in the first few days so have been following along the entire time. Bludd does always provide new viewpoints and this thread is a great sentiment so again, "Hear, Hear"!

OMG.
This should be a headline. Bluud has determined, by means of his own incomparable reasoning, that his bandit character will really be rescuing the merchants from the sin of greed, liberating them from abject enslavement to material gain in the finest tradition of liberators everywhere. Such selflessness! Such sacrifices he makes! What an example of ... why we should not theorize isolated from reality.

It is anticipated that the level of my altruism would be unexpected or not fully understood. If I could just save one merchant, that would wipe away a life time's worth of sitting by and just watching them spiral down the dark path of greed. ;-)

It is, um, sad that he misspelled his name but I'm not to be held responsible for either his sad mistakes or successes.

If you're too successful Bluddwolf, someone will develop an Anti-Bludd task force. Should be interesting.
Or they will throw roses at my feet in parades celebrated throughout the River Kingdoms. I doubt I will ascend as high as Hobs has, he is a Saintly being and all of our candles flicker and dim in his presence. ;-)

...and then you whack me for my green hat...(it is Tuesday again). :P

Hobs, if Green Hat Tuesday was every Tuesday, then it would not live up to its true nature. One day, I won't say when.... Green Hat Tuesday, will be on a Saturday and it will be your fault!!
