Hello Paizo,

I just attended Paizocon 2014 and had a great time. Thanks for a wonderful event.

I was able to attend 3 of Lone Wolf's seminars on their products and they used RotR as a sample realm in Realm Works. It was an outstanding achievement! A ton of work must have been required to create that "Realm". As a GM currently half-way through that AP, and as a Realm Works user, I was incredibly covetous of their achievement. We were advised that it wasn't available commercially because they didn't have Paizo's consent/agreement/contract/whatever to do so but, if we liked what we saw, it wouldn't do any harm to put the bug in your ear.

Consider that bug shoved in hard. LW seemed reasonably sure that Realm Works versions of APs could be done at a reasonable cost and be financially worthwhile--so, why not! I'll buy 'em, and save myself a ton of work.

Cheers and thanks again for a great Con.

Unfortunately this is still something our tech team is working on. The E-tickets should hopefully be displaying properly in the near future. For now, I can verify that you have 3 Paizocon Badges.

In the mean time, we can process your Banquet Ticket purchase manually from our end. If you will let us know how many banquet tickets you would like, then with your permission I can submit an order using the payment method linked to your subscriptions.

Customer Service

Hey, that's great Justin! I'd like 3 banquet tickets please. Please proceed to do the order as you describe.

Cheers!

Hello,
A couple months ago I purchased three Paizocon 3-day passes(order 2925944). They do not show up in my e-tickets, which is why, I assume, I cannot purchase banquet tickets. I tried to do so on the same day I purchased the passes but was told "you have to purchase the passes first" (which, of course, I had already done). So, I've waited awhile to see if this resolved itself but no luck. Anyhoo, how do I get banquet tickets? And how do I know I actually have the passes since they don't show up in my e-tickets?
Regards,
Jay

Just so you know, I bought 3 3-day passes and then tried to buy 3 banquet tickets but your site wouldn't let me: said I had to buy 3-day passes first (which, of course, I already had and the 3-day passes were in my account listing).

Hmmm, ok, guess I'm "mis-remembering"! I'll subscribe.
Cheers!

Hello customer service,
I just realized that my subscription for Pathfinder Pawns has disappeared and so I haven't received any pawns since the NPC Codex Box. Specifically, I've missed the Shattered Star, Bestiary 2, and Reign of Winter pawn sets. Any chance my subscription can be reinstated? I did not cancel it (at least, not intentionally).
Thanks.

Hi Paizo,
I received my subscription Skull & Shackles case of boosters yesterday. One box had only 3 minis in it: the big one and two of the medium-sized bases. The middle slot of the medium-size side was empty. Oddly, the only mini I didn't get was #41 Golden Guardian. I'm not expecting a replacement Golden Guardian, just letting you know of the error.
Regards,
Jay Joyner

Hi Paizo,
I did not receive the Pathfinder Dice Set: Second Darkness with the captioned order. I hope you can send that product to me. I did receive all other components of the order.

Cheers,
Jay

Firstly, Cosmo: thanks very much for the replacement book. Not necessary as I could certainly live with the defect but a sign of excellent customer service! I shall donate the original (repaired to fully useable status with some duct tape) to a worthy player.

Secondly, Lisa: my problem was not loose pages but the loosening of whatever holds the bundled pages to the cover (that is, whatever holds the cover on). In other words, my cover came off--all the pages are still tightly bound together.

Once again, thanks Paizo for the replacement.

My binding was split on receipt--it had separated at the back cover so I imagine it will tear off completely very soon. Not a big deal but annoying...

You will have a fighter look at this and say, "I can't Power Attack with my Cleave/Overhand Attack/Spring Attack? Why not?"

As I understand it, Power Attack is not a combat feat so you could use it in conjunction with one combat feat each round...

I have a question for the crowd. Is it the actual chaining that is a problem? -OR- Is it that some of the more common used familiar feats got put in a chain? -OR- Is it that you can only use one combat feat per round

1. Chaining doesn't strike me as a problem in its own right--it's just that it doesn't seem to work well with these feats. The Dodge/Mobility/Spring Attack sequence is a perfect example. But some series of feats that actually built upon the preceding feat in the sense that it isn't reasonable to do B if you haven't done A first might work well.

2. To me, it didn't seem like the common feats worked well in a chain. Maybe some could be tweaked.

3. I like the one combat feat per round. It streamlines the game by limiting the factors to consider and forces choices on the player.

I like the idea of combat feats, only one of which is useable per round. I completely agree however that building from round to round sounds problematic. To use Dodge, do I have to actually be in combat, or threatened? Can I just say when combat starts: "Well, I do Dodge every single round all day long so I'm ready to go with Mobility!" And then, in round 2 when I do Mobility, do I actually have to move? Just doesn't make sense--I think I should be able to Whirlwind on demand. After all, I've spent several levels and feats to get to the point where Whirlwind Attack is an option.

That said, I'm certainly open to some kind of "super-feats" that need a build-up of one or more rounds to allow me to do something really cool.

Excellent idea - it would really facilitate the playtesting!

In depth geography information a la Kingdom of Kalamar atlas: detailed regional maps, climate, trade goods and routes, that kind of thing.

A collection of detailed hamlets, thorps, villages, small towns. Not role-playing detail but maps, lists of businesses, local industry, local government, guards, militia, religious buildings, fairs, markets, etc. I can add my own adventure hooks.

Similar stuff on a "national" level - economy, aristocracy, standing military, etc. Gary Gygax was great at this stuff...

Here's my never-submitted take on the adventure. It's remarkably similar to Mr. Emerson's ideas.

Spoiler:

What is the object that vanished and why is it important to retrieve it?

The “Red Raven” is a statuette, depicting a raven perched on a rocky pinnacle. The statuette is carved from a single ruby. Its value is considerable and vital to the wellbeing of the community of Azurestone, where the statuette was recently uncovered during the digging of a new town well. Azurestone is a farming community that is in dire straights after a summer of unusual weather wiped out the crops and dried up the old well. The sale of the statuette will provide much needed cash to purchase food for the residents for the coming winter.

What are two of the obstacles that the PCs must overcome while chasing down the object?

Wilderness obstacles include weather, terrain, wild animals, and intelligent inhabitants. Here are two:

1. A climatic switch from a late-autumn heat wave to an approaching cold snap with blizzard conditions. The PCs’ pursuit begins in the heat but ends in the cold. Heat wave thunderstorms in the mountains have swollen a major river and washed out the only bridge. In the foothills, the storms have set a large forest fire burning. The PCs must deal with the fire and, once the blizzard hits, cold and snow. It is possible that elements of both fire and snow will apply until the blizzard drowns out the fire.

2. A family of starving werebears is trying to prepare for winter “hibernation”. Hunting and gathering has been poor because of the unusual weather this summer. The PCs might have to fight to avoid becoming a tasty addition to the bears’ larder or might negotiate their way past the dangerous predators.

Who took the object and why?

The Red Raven was taken by a clan of dwarves living in the Fog Peak Mountains. The raven has been the clan standard for centuries and the Red Raven statuette was the cultural symbol of the Red Raven clan and “hearthstone” of the clan’s hold. The Raven was carved by a talented Red Raven clan craftsman, who was also their greatest king. When the Raven was looted after the conquest of the hold by a lowland warlord 150 years ago, the clan and the hold both went into decline and barely survive today. When the clan heard about the finding of the Raven in Azurestone, they felt their very survival depended upon returning it to its original home. A recovery team was sent to retrieve it at any cost. The team managed to acquire the Raven without any bloodshed or major property damage and is now fleeing home.

What will the final showdown with the culprit look like?

The PCs will catch the dwarves at the entrance to the mountain pass leading to their hold. The forest fire closes in on the trail through the foothills behind them while the first onset of winter roars towards them over the frontal slope of the mountains. The PCs must settle matters with the dwarves, by force, diplomacy, or theft, all while a forest fire and blizzard simultaneously close in. Obviously the PCs face the additional challenge of a moral dilemma in dealing with the arguably rightful owners of the statue—not to mention the tempting value of the Raven itself.

What new monster do you plan to include in this adventure?

Nanda:
The dwarves have domesticated a breed of snow leopard, known as the Nanda or Cloud Cat. The cats act as hunting companions, guard animals, and beasts of burden. They are similar to leopards but have concealment on snow or if it is lightly snowing and have invisibility in heavy snow conditions. Their adaptation to cold climates makes them vulnerable to heat and fire. Depending upon when the PCs encounter the dwarves, the Cats can be dangerous or a nuisance.

I too received the last Dragon (359) yesterday but have not received Dragon 358.

Also, my copy of 359 did not include the Giant Poster.

I hope you can send me a #358 and 359's Giant Poster!

Many thanks.

Will do. Thanks.

Well, I won't be sad to see whatever mail system you used for Dragon and Dungeon bite the dust!

I see Dragon 358 has shipped--I did not receive either 356 or 357. Hope you can replace them.

Many thanks!

A HUGE thanks to Paizo for fulfilling this request.

I second this. Good job folks. Keep up the great work.

Will the GameMastery adventure line have a subscription option with pdfs as well?

I second this. I've always thought that Dungeon adventures were of high quality--even the "worst" were pretty good.

Thanks Paizo for your efforts to improve the game we love. I've been a loyal reader of Dragon since #42 and Dungeon for its entire life (and a subscriber for 99% of that time). It's a sad day indeed.

You folks did a great job with the magazines and their current incarnations were definitely the best ever.

I'm really looking forward to the new Pathfinder--both myself and my players love the adventure paths.

Keep up the great work!

I too am missing 353. I have received 354.

White pages, black text - definitely the way to go. I, like LV, scan (and OCR) at least portions of the adventures and the watermarks make for a lot more work correcting reading errors.

Hey, thanks for the clarifying diagram Peter. I too was confused about the boat life (and room 17) but the illustration cleared it up. I was especially confused about where the levers were in room 17 and, again, the diagram cleared it up. Maybe Paizo can include that diagram in the web download for this issue.

Great adventure by the way - I love the canal idea. I think my players will be looking for a way to make this castle/dungeon their own!

The cover was stunning. The woman was too. As was the related adventure - hire the Conners again, please.

And Eric, I've been a subscriber since issue 4 - sorry to see you go man. Great job!
