Our current PFS group has officially run into a dilemma, and one which would very easily be expected, what do you do when there aren't enough modules left for you next set of characters? At present we have a mixed group of news and olds, which creates a problem because many of the olds have played the much greater portion of the modules. All we are left with are modules that a notoriously bad or nothing at all. We've done the approved sanctioned large modules as well. Any solutions?
Aside from your GM saying the incorrect pronoun from time to time, sex has very minor effect on the game. That being said, if you are trying to be chauvinistic in your Roleplaying of the opposite gender, someone will have a problem with it and hopefully will do you the favor of extracting your face from your skull with their knuckles.
I know I'm sort of casting an animate thread spell here, but when is this going to spelled out in plain PDF. This topic is generally an over asked question among these forums, but it's not actually outlined anywhere. With a ban list twice the size of the titanic I would have figured at some point it would have been possible to also come up with a simple list of what in Season 0 equals what, even if you had to outsource it to a fan-boy, who is simply going to be proud because his PFS number appears on a document, and then review said list. I could also point out that the very document that SHOULD address these issues is in it's toddler phases but still doesn't properly explain how this is handled (though it does finally address prestige). It does however express prestige and experience changes to these modules. This is a category where you now have a huge rules problem. With the current play as written rule and the "tweak ruling" for Season 0. You now add an additional problem of GMs playing only Season 0 so they can Burger King these Scenarios and give lower than average gold and loot to players by claiming there are no equivalents. In reality though, what is even the fear behind allowing them to exist. They are non-trade-able items which can only ever be earned one time for playing a series of modules you clearly don't want to exert time and energy into converting. However, it is also clear you don't want to just outright retire them because they clearly will provide a sales revenue stream. After 4 years though, it's just so hard to understand why this issue is still evaded by every major speaker in the Pathfinder Game System, when, really, it would only take 10 minutes in a room together or 2 days of email conversation, to make a real final decision.
This Spam Detect Evil idea is one which I think is morally flawed for a Paladin. As a Paladin use of the DE ability is an infringement upon the rights of most people. It would be the same thing as walking into someone's home and hooking them up to a polygraph device without asking them permission and then proceeding to question them about there whereabouts. A Paladin who follows a code of Chivalry and Honor would use it only when he has obtained proper consent to do so. In addition most societies have high ranking evil members of their governing bodies. I am sure that they would have laws in place restricting the extreme use of DE.
Actually, the problem you have isn't necessarily with the fact that they are undead. Remember that a Paladin really has no way to differentiate between whether the pile of bones that is moving is the result of an Animate Dead spell or an Animate Object spell. So if that were a Paladin's issue it would be a simple bluff to say that you are simply animating the bones and not the actually creature itself. However, the issue is actually that you are not giving proper rest to the dead. Part of being Lawful Good is that the law holds sacred the right to a proper burial and funeral no matter what your crimes. Animating the undead takes away the deceased's right to a fair burial (and in some religions the right to an appropriate after life). Sadly, the only way you could do this is to animate them without his awareness and then disguise them as humans. I feel that any necromancer that wishes to be in a party with anyone on any alignment would have that at the top of their best wishes category. Necromancy is a questionable area and if as a Necromancer you want to go around showing people that you have no respect for their corpses, then you should have to play up to that flaw. |
