![]() So I intend to give my Eidolon proficiency in greatswords, because I wanna go full on damage. However, I also had the idea to evovle an extra pair of arms for it, and then give it two greatswords. Then take Multiweapon Fighting to reduce the penalties I'd obviously take. I might just be having a brain fart, but could somebody tell me what penalties I'd take to each attack? ![]()
![]() Dafydd wrote: Well, Spell Storing holding a Blindness/Deafness isa nice trick for caster hate. If you are deaf, there is a chance you blunder a pronunciation in a verbal component. Blind has the obvious benefit of they can no longer target spells. I'm certainly diggin' Blindness. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks, man! ![]()
![]() So I'm sorta new to Pathfinder, and I'm anticipating fighting a lot of magic users for the final battle. So my question is if there are any abilities I could imbue upon a weapon that would be akin to a Silence ability that would make it harder for a magic user to cast spells. If there isn't, anything that might work as an alternative would be nice. Thanks in advance. :) ![]()
![]() So, quick question. Suppose I, as a cleric, wanted to bend people to my will (preferably without causing them pain, but f need be, I can wing that). Using any means necessary (preferably without third party stuff, but if there is, feel free to note me of it), how would I be able to do that? Wonderous items are fine.

I'm sure it'd work for our sorcerer girl, but I guess I'll talk to our GM about whether it'd work on me. But yeah, that's mad helpful. Thanks. ![]()

LOL Goddity wrote: Talk to GM. If he/she is useless then kill him first or get a new group. He's far from useless. He's our only good source of healing. Goddity wrote: What alignment is he? Mind controlling for conversion is pretty evil. All you need to do is get him scanned by the local paladin brigade). He swears he's true neutral, but he's toed the line of Neutral Evil enough that the party jokes with him about it. Goddity wrote: Is this guy normally a problem player? He hasn't done anything specifically to harm us, though he seems to have plot connections to the Whispering Tyrant, so I'm not sure what he's planning behind the scenes. He was worried about the hierophant of Nethys coming to kick his ass after he re-wrote the holy text of Nethys (no I'm not joking), but the GM seemed to not mind (somehow). He did tell me he had a plan to set up scapegoat churches in such an event though, so he could very well be hiding something. Besides that, nothing except buying out all of the supply of the strange liquid I'm addicted to.Goddity wrote: Most important: Are you using third party? Because then he could be making one of millions of available overpowered gear. There is no good defense against an unknown third party item. I'm not sure, unfortunately. I'll ask the GM, because I am a bit curious. Goddity wrote: Are all three of them against the two of you in this? Because then there isn't much you can do, because it sounds like they have the heavy melee and the healer. I'm actually more melee proficient than the barbarian, but he does have healing. As for where their alliances lie, the cleric has definitely told them what's going on, but they won't tell us. Goddity wrote: Do you know if it was 6000 exactly or approximately? He said specifically 6000 GP to make it, so it would have a buying price of 12,000 GP. Thanks for any help; I'll keep looking too. ![]()
![]() So my party currently includes a cleric of Nethys, and I'm a bit worried about what he's planning with some of the other party members. He, along with our alchemist and our barbarian, are saving for some item that would cost him 6,000 gold to make. He says it'll help the party, but he refuses to tell me and our sorcerer as we haven't converted to Nethys, which has got us kinda concerned (he's a bit pushier than most clerics of Nethys on converting people; I'm aware). We pressed him a little bit, and when we asked if it was some kind of mind-control thing, he got dodgier than normal. So I'm a bit worried about that. The sorcerer would probably be okay, as she has a decent will save, but as a ranger, I'd be pretty well boned. So my question is: what kind of item might he be crafting for 6,000 gold, and what would me and our sorcerer girl be able to do in preparation, in the event that it is a mind control thing? Thanks in advance,

Ah, see, that was my mistake. I was confusing character level and spell level. Like I said, rookie over here. So all in all, I would need a level 14 Wizard or Sorcerer to cast a Permanency spell on an Animate Object. As for Animate Object, which would give my character control over the object, I'd need to be a level 11 Cleric or Bard. So basically, unless the character I'm currently playing dies halfway down the leveling line, don't get my hopes up. Oh well. I guess it's still worth knowing what's in the realm of possibility. Still, it'd be a cool idea to keep on the backburners, or something to work up to. And I still learned something, so hey. Thanks to both of you. :) ![]()
![]() Eridan wrote: Take a look at the 'Construct' subdomain found in the Advance Players guide. With 8th level you can cast animate object as a domain power once per day. By a scroll of 'permanency' or ask you a friendly wizard with 9th level or higher and you have your permanent animated object. Alright, so looking at the advanced guide, my modus operandi for this character would be to get the following. I need a level 6 cleric or bard to cast Animate Object, and I need a level 5 Sorcerer or Wizard to cast permanency, and that would give me a permanent living object at the Cleric or Bard's command. Alternatively, as you mentioned, I could find a scroll to replace either of these things. Would there be any way to enlarge the object? ![]()
![]() Alright, so I'm new to Pathfinder, so I'm trying to figure out ideas for characters. If somebody could help me to build this character, I'd appreciate it. The two main spells I want on my character are Animate Object and Permanency. This will allow my character to have a living permanent object. If I could make the object huge, that'd be cool too, but if I can't, that's fine. I'm not sure what class this character should be. A Sorcerer? A Witch? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I understand not being able to have Animate Object and Permanency right out of the gate. Thank you, and have a good day. |
