I'm trying to locate the map that came with the third installment of Age of Worms.

Is it available anywhere? The online supplement doesn't include it and I'm afraid to buy the pdf (the print version is sold out) if the map is not included as I already have the print version.

I just stumbled across this thread, so I'm not sure if you still need the map now that it is a couple of weeks later, but I might be able to help. I'm not a big fan of the big poster size maps, so I scanned the map in as four 8.5 x 11 scans and then assembled the quadrants and reprinted it as a single 8.5 x 11 sheet for use in my campaign. So if you still need this file, I'd be happy to forward it along. (Hopefully Paizo and WoTC will not have an issue with this type of sharing . . .) But just let me know what e-mail address you would like it sent to and I will happily do so. Keep in mind that it is a high quality jpeg so it is about a 2.5 MB file.

I'm interested in introducing the deck to the game I GM for. Most of my players are open to the idea, but they are very concerned about the frequency of "insta-kill" results in the deck.

I don't want to force an unfair situation on my players, but I'm intrigued by the storytelling elements introduced by some of the deck's outcomes. The I'd appreciate more input from both GMs and players who have experience using the deck.

Thanks.

I started GMing a new campaign 3 weeks ago and really wanted to use the Critical Hit Deck. Before we started, I pulled out the deck and explained how it worked and let the players thumb through some of the cards. The group liked it and agreed it would be a good addition. I then gave them the 3 options:

1 - Only PC criticals use the cards.
2 - PC's and major named villains use the cards
3 - Everyone uses the cards.

The players decided to go with option 2.

Next I asked if they wanted to draw their own cards or if they preferred that I keep the deck behind by GM screen and draw a card and just describe the effects that happen. To my surprise they went for having me draw the cards.

So far in our campaign, in 3 game sessions, we have only had 3 confirmed critical hits. (Sigh, darn constructs and undead . . .) But so far they have been fun and entertaining. The best one so far was this past Saturday. The group was fighting a very tough Worg. The knight made an attack with his longsword and confirmed the critical. I drew the card and the game effect was something to the effect of a gaping wound which caused double damage and all critical threats automatically confirm for the next 3 rounds. I described it something to the effect that "Your sword cleaves the side of the wolf. There is a huge gaping wound with a large flap of skin dangling from the side of the creature. A large pool of blood is forming at the foot of the creature. It looks like your blow has done twice the damage that you expected." During the next round the party was excited to find that when the druid swing with her weapon and rolled a natural 20, I announced that her weapon plunged into the gaping wound on the wolf's side and that her critical threat automatically confirms and told her to roll damage while I drew another card from the Critical Hit Deck . . .

Lots of fun. I definitely recommend using the deck, just let your players know what to expect.

I need round mini bases in medium, large and huge scale for some minis I am prepping to sculpt. Anyone have a good source for plastic ones?

I ordered some bases about a year ago from TheWarStore.com and had no problems with them. I got the Epicast bases and they seem to be pretty good quality to my untrained eye and the cobblestone road bases gave a little more variety to my minis than the plain, flat black bases that I've normally seen. The only problem there may be with your requirements is that the bases aren't in the convenient 1, 2, and 3 inches, but in a variety of millimeters. Probably not too big of an issue, but just thought I'd mention it . . .

Hey all! Just wanted to invite any gamers in the area to the next Tucson D&D Meet Up. This is a monthly get together that is mainly designed to try to get players and GM's together if they are looking for a game. We get together on the 2nd Saturday of each month to eat some pizza, drink some beer (and soda), talk about gaming, and if someone's looking for a group, there are often groups looking for new players. So if you're available this weekend, come join us. Hope to see some of you there!

Here is the official post from the Meet Up Organizer:

When:
Saturday, July 14, 2007, 1:00PM

Where:
Zachary's Pizza
1028 E. 6th St.
Tucson , AZ 85719
520-623-6323

Hello All,

We're back to the normal schedule now. Second saturday every month. I know there are a few groups looking for extra players so by all means if you're looking drop by with at least your DM and even better a few of your members so the new players have an idea of the group they might join.

New players or people looking for games show up. If you don't show we can't bring you in.

Thanks to all again!

Eviljosh

You can get the official information on the monthly Meet UP at:

Edit: Almost forgot to mention, although this is the "D&D" Meet Up, we get roleplayers of all different types of systems. So don't feel you can't show up just because you're looking for a non-D&D game. There may be someone looking for the same type of game you are!

I'd vote for the hi-res downloadable version. Low cost and effort for the Paizo staff (they're doing a lot of work already), but still available for those of us who love maps. I've done several print out bunches of 8.5 x 11 sheets, cut and tape together to get a big map, and wouldn't have a problem doing it again, but I want a crisp and clear map when I blow it up and pin it to my wall.

Maybe down the road after the world is filled out a little more, do a large, pre-printed poster version on card stock or vinyl. (And maybe introduce it at the one or two year anniversary and send it as a "thank you" gift to those of us who have been on the subscription plan since the Pathfinder series started and sell it to the rest. But that part might fall under the dream category. 8P )
