My greetings to you, mighty deities of Golarion. My Common is quite bad, so I hope my Linguistic check is ok :)
I'm running chapter 5 and next session we are going to create Runeforged weapons.
Now, since in all chapter 5 my group met several difficulties (we had 1 TPK and 2 nearly-TPK types of situations in 4 wings they cleared) and me wanting to give some more personal experience to my players... I want to make those weapons stronger (minor artifacts level) and matching their sinful side.
So, my limited imagination brought me to this:
1)Every artifact will have a +5 untyped bonus to the main stat.
2) An active effect generally activated by swift action
3) A passive effect, reinforcing weak sides of their PCs
When the spell of school associated with the Sin opposed by their Sin affects the holder of the artifact, they can sacrifice one of the previous bonuses to ignore this spell.
Now, I have some ideas, but since it's my first PF campaign, I'd like to hear criticism advice and some suggestions :)
Glasses of the Lone Dragonslayer
Created by Ahiss, the Arcanist in pursuit of stopping the Runelord Karzoug, this eyewear immortalize his prideful duel with a Red Dragon.
It functions like Eyes of Eyebite (https://aonprd.com/MagicWondrousDisplay.aspx?FinalName=Eyes%20of%20Eyebite ), except it also:
1) Grants its owner +5 Intelligence (this bonus is considered permanent after 24 hours of being used)
2) Every time you miss because of concealment or spells, like displacement and mirror image, you can reroll your miss chance percentile roll one time to see if you actually hit, as an immediate action
3) Arcanist wielding this item ignore "She can expend no more than 1 point from her reservoir on a given spell in this way" rule of Arcanist's Reservoir
When you're under the effect of Conjuration or Transmutation spell, you can choose one of these 3 properties to negate the effect of spell on you, but this property becomes unavailable for the next 24 hours.
Shortspear of the Lying Storyteller
Created by Migrik, the Bard in pursuit of stopping the Runelord Karzoug, this shortspear immortalizes his prideful ability to lie to get what he wants.
It functions like +1 spellstoring elven ranched spear, except it also:
1) Grants its owner +5 untyped bonus to Charisma (this bonus is considered permanent after 24 hours of being used)
2) As a move action, it's wielder can make a Bluff check and relocate his spear up to 200 feet. All creatures within 30 feet, must succeed on a DC 10+half the level+ charisma modifier or take sonic damage equal to the result of the check and take shakened conditions. This effect is language-dependent.
3) Spells influenced by metamagic no longer require more time for being casted.
When you're under the effect of Conjuration or Transmutation spell, you can choose one of these 3 properties to negate the effect of spell on you, but this property becomes unavailable for the next 24 hours.
Glaive of the Succubi Sweetness
Created by Eastwind, the Paladin-Swashbackler in pursuit of stopping the Runelord Karzoug, this glaive immortalizes his lustful relationship with a succubus.
It functions like +3 shock glaive, except it also:
1) Grants its owner +5 untyped bonus to Dexterity
2) As a swift action, after scoring a critical hit, it's wielder can make 2 additional attacks with the highest attack bonus.
3) The wielder of this glaive receives an additional 45 feet of fly speed.
When you're under the effect of Enchantment or Illusion spell, you can choose one of these 3 properties to negate the effect of spell on you, but this property becomes unavailable for the next 24 hours.
When you're under the effect of Necromancy or Transmutation spell, you can choose one of these 3 properties to negate the effect of spell on you, but this property becomes unavailable for the next 24 hours.
Rod of the Fulminous Lifestealer
Created by Shans, the Clerics in pursuit of stopping the Runelord Karzoug, this immortalizes their controversial twin relationship.
It functions like Rod of Thunder and Lightning (https://aonprd.com/MagicRodsDisplay.aspx?FinalName=Rod%20of%20Thunder%20an d%20Lightning), except:
1) Grants its owner +5 untyped bonus to Wisdom.
2) As a swift action, it permits its wielder to choose one creature it can see. All the damage done to this creature in this round by wielder transforms in temporal hp, possessed by the wielder. That hp expires at the start of the wielder next round.
3) When the wielder deals electricity damage he adds a bonus to damage dealt, equal to his level. He also ignores half of the resistance to electricity and treats immune as Electricity resist 30.
When you're under the effect of Enchantment or Illusion spell, you can choose one of these 3 properties to negate the effect of spell on you, but this property becomes unavailable for the next 24 hours.
I hope they are quite balanced, except for swashbuckler's (which should be a bit weaker) and for clerics (which should be a bit stronger). Hope you can give me some advice. Sorry for interrupting :)
