I'm running this for my first time GMing with 3 new players and one experienced (who usually GM's) I'm finding my players get restless, though they act extremely cautiously after the first encounter nearly killed one of the party.
one fight in particular was a real grind for them
In addition to drawn out encounters, my players as 1st level lack detailed knowledge of ancient languages, local knowledge, history, religion etc. it seems to me that the checks required are so hard they will just blunder through this dungeon without ever learning anything significant about it!
As they are on the hunt for a specific mystery of where the bodies are going, you would think there would be some clues around, but the other encounters in the dungeon seem totally unrelated for the most part, and even the knowledge broker offers them practically no help. It would have been nice if there were more clues around to allow them to puzzle out what is going on.
After 2 three-hour sessions they have covered maybe 30% of this adventure, is this normal?
