the spell works only on humanoid creatures
many people say that they can cast it upon their eidolon

in which case is an eidolon humanoid?
an eidolon is an outsider. can outsider be humanoid?
i doubt this is in quadruple form but if the eidolon looks like a centaur (adding some arms) ... centaurs count as monstrous humanoid. but without arms it is e.g. a dog. does a dog-eidolon count as an animal?

i dont know why you tell me that i get an attack bonus while mounted when the question was to avoid enemy attacks. so this ride check is the only bonus i get. ok, i thought there was more. maybe in 3.5 or 3.0

i play a summoner and i am riding on my eidolon
to ride my eidolon i have to be smaller than it

is there a penalty for an enemy to target me? dont i get cover because a larger creature is occupying my space?
