I run a homebrew play-by-post on my own forum for some friends because we don't get enough time to play in real life and we all like the format and the RP opportunities it presents.

One of the things I'm having trouble with is tracking dice rolls, statuses, HP, nonlethal, etc... all the crunchy bits that the game needs in the background.

So, preface set... Here's the question:

What do you use to track dice, HP damage, statuses, etc?

I'm especially interested in the HP damage stat because that is what I'm having the most trouble with keeping clear to all the participants.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice on how to accomplish a goal. I want to build a necromancer similar to the one from Diablo2. He could raise up undead minions to fight for him, curse his enemies, and protect himself with bone armor, and some poison abilities.

I have looked at the Undead Lord archetype for the cleric, but that doesn't quite do what I'm looking for. Also, a summoner might work... I looked at the broodmaster archetype, but again, it doesn't cover what I really want.

Here are some essential ingredients that I MUST have:

Skeletal Minions - at least three if not a few more... The diablo2 version had 8 at max capacity.

Ability to absorb/drain energy or vitality from opponents and transfer to self, or use to buff minions. Also, should include ability to poison/curse opponents with baneful spells or special attacks.

Perhaps I've missed something or perhaps I need to build it myself from scratch... I'm just curious if anyone else has tried something like this and what you ended up with.

Thanks,

Ok, so we're "in-game" and we are trying to determine if/how you can throw another person. We can't find it in the rules. we have a barbarian with high STR score and need to know how far he can throw another creature...

Any tips? How do you calculate distance...? CMB? CMD for the throwee?

Thanks

Ok, so I get cantrips and I have been looking at Mage Hand and Prestidigitation. Mage hand is pretty self-explanatory, but Prestidigitation is a little more open to interpretation...

I would like to ask my fellow players/GMs in the community:

"How have YOU used Mage Hand or Prestidigitation in game?"

"Why would you recommend _______ as a cantrip over other options?"

I get 5 cantrips for the level I'm at. I only have one more cantrip slot left and I'm trying to decide if this is worth it. My current 4 selections are Daze, Detect Magic, Message, and Read Magic.

Thanks for any input y'all have!

PS - This may be obvious, but I have to choose from the Sorcerer/Wizard spell list.

Hey all,

We're dealing with a centipede swarm... our fighter got them all over him (they're in his space) and our barbarian wants to attack the swarm... how do we resolve this? Straight roll vs AC? what if the barb misses? any risk to the fighter?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!
