Example: Longsword last line reads "If you aren't proficient with weapons, the difficulty of this check is increased by 4"
What check is this refering to, and how does it work exactly?
a. Check to acquire the weapon
b. Check to the combat itself, i,e: Mercenary Combat Check 10 would now be 14?
c. It negates the weapons roll if its less than 4? So I roll a 5 for damage and I only get a 1 due to sloppy swordsmanship.
d. The 4 is only applied if I am discarding the sword for the additional 1d6.
