No. I do not play favorites. If I did Paizo would remove me.

I have attended SCARAB once and decided not to go back because I personally felt like there was a bit of favoritism at that convention. One example being the gaming experience. There was one table of all ratfolk that I think you were evening playing at that was set apart from the others, there was an announcement about the cool thing going on there, and a few other oddities. It was cool to hear about but that same honor and excitement wasn't given to other tables during my time there.

Another example was that the Medallion center said we couldn't bring in outside food. I respect that and understand it may have been a contractual obligation. But I sat at tables with people who had outside food. On one day, the last if I recall correctly, we were initially told there would be no food provided for purchase from the Medallion center so outside food was allowed. When we returned with it a group in front of us walked in with food and were not stopped, a group next to us with food were not stopped, but a representative from SCARAB and not the medallion center stopped me. They made me eat outside on the curb instead. It certainly felt like favoritism at that time. It wasn't you, I don't blame you personally. But I just give this as an example of how your convention made me feel. And as the person in charge of that convention I do believe you are at least partially responsible for the actions of your staff.

Yet another example was my personal experience with how the Charity Prize Support was run. It was my understanding that if I bought a pin to support charity that all rolls for boon were a winner and that actual winners were supposed to be wins for things like hardcovers or splat books. However only one of my three trips to the table to roll matched the sales pitch I received when donating to receive the pin. Maybe however that was a misunderstanding on my part and not favoritism.

So Del, can you explain how your special method of boon distribution for charity work at SCARAB? Also I attend a lot of regional cons but that method seems mostly unique to SCARAB. Could other cons in the region or elsewhere use the same method, or is this something that is SCARAB exclusive?

That is dependent on your GM.

Typically the requirements for your character knowing the spell are:

Is it on your class spell list?

Is it the correct level to know the spell? (ie. can your character with its class levels cast spells from that tier?)

Is your ability score high enough to cast spells of that level?

And for some home tables and all PFS tables, do you own the source material.

Racial spells add another check you have to pass. Are you the correct race to know this spell? If the answer to any of these questiosn is no, then you can not know the spell.

However, if it is a home game then your GM has the power to hand wave any or all of these requirements whenever he/she chooses.

tl;dr - ask your GM if they will allow it.

I would certainly be interested depending on when. What time of day and what day of the week were you thinking about?

"Before the errata this would of been Orc-Scarred Witch Doctor, but oh well. "

Which errata messed up Scarred Witch Doctor for you? The only one I know of was the one to make it PFS legal by saying " half-orcs may select racial favored class options, archetypes, traits, and so on, as if they were a full member of both races (a half-elf can select elf and human rules elements, a half-orc can select human and orc rules elements)."

But to answer your question. I love the idea of any of the animal like races (grippli, catfolk, lizard folk, etc) being a wilpshape druid that turns into what they resemble. Its like evolution backwards or a make your own werefrog/werecat/werelizard/etc kind of feel to it.

Hey Jack,

So warhorn.net is a popular site for scheduling pathfinder games. You can check your city on there or just check NC and see if a city close to you has any games.

In Charlotte there seems to be an inactive game in NoDa (a neigborhood in Charlotte) at Get Some Games. I say inactive because nobody signs up but they keep scheduling games soo perhaps somebody is showing up and just not using the site for organization.

There also seems to be a game hosted at Fea Balmora which is north of Charlotte in Cool Springs, NC but a google does not yeild an address and I have a suspicion that may be a home game as it looks like a residential area.

There is also a game hosted at Above Board Games in Fort Mills,SC which is just south of Charlotte. They use warhorn.net for scheduling and have a 5 dollar cover to play.

I have found in Concord, TN one game shop, New Realm game shop. http://newrealmgaming.com/calendar/ They seem to host a game on Wed night. I emailed asking for details but have no gotten a response yet. That is however the old board game shop I have found in Concord NC so it may be the one Brother Fen is talking about.

Additionally it seems there used to be games run out of Your Local Game Store in Mattews, NC and PC Outpost and Gaming in Kannapolis, NC. They appear to be inactive but if you contact them that may not be the case.

Hope this helps and if you hear of any others let me know. :)

Best wishes and good luck.

awesome! Where at in concord? And do they have a website? I'm not incredibly familiar with the gaming stores in the area since I'm new in town. Sorry for all the questions but thank you for your help!

Hey man. I moved here recently too and am in the same boat, looking for a group to play with. I found on warhorn the hornets nest lodge but it seems pretty inactive and only plays way up north at a place I can't even find on google. Then above board games played once a week but they have a cover to play. If you know of any others or found one, would love to hear about it!

Hope this helps and good luck.

Over 40 hours of pfs in a weekend, 30 with the same dm (thanks for putting up with us Aaron!), and tons of Goblin Goodness (All hail the Lantern King!) really made for an amazing experience! Con Nooga was a great event! Thanks everybody who ran it, helped run it, or ran a table. In a city without a booming PFS community, its great to get yall out here! Cant thank you enough!

Just moved back to town after years of being away and just in time for Con Nooga, which looks to have a rather large amount of PFS. But I cant seem to find any place that runs locally the rest of the year. Any shops or groups in Chattanooga, Cleveland, or North Georgia run PFS games or any Pathfinder games at all?

So I have searched and searched and cant figure it out. The Adopted Trait allows you to get a race trait from another race. In another tread I saw somebody suggest to get Honeyed Words with that trait. Now I put it into Hero Lab and it allowed me to do it and so I didnt think anything of it. Now my DM has pointed out that Honeyed Word is a religion trait and cant be taken with adopted but it comes from the Dwarves of Galorian book, which our copy of has disappeared somewhere. So this is a pretty basic question. Can I actually take Honeyed Words with the adopted trait or do I even need the adopted trait (it doesnt look to be racially specific on the pfsrd) and can I take it naturally. If it matters the character is neutral good, does worship Grundinar, and is an Elf.
