I really hate to do this, but I think it's the best. I won't be GMing this game anymore. School's starting, I'm terribly busy, and I won't do the game the justice it deserves. Feel free to make a Recruitment "Looking for GM post" or something! But I want you guys to know you all kicked ass when I actually GM'd. Sorry.
You could always have someone start training in non-magical healing. Not a complete replacement, but a bit safer. Bandage people up and all.
I like it. Looks like a good character for stealthy urban adventure!
Alright, let's get going. If we can get three solid players and I can pull myself together we can rejuvenate this thing.
Sorry guys-long week, lots of unplanned time without Internet. Safe to say that Southwest AZ desert is not a fun place to spend a lot of time, especially in July, not at your house, without a cell phone. If you guys have more friends to play, bring em in. :)
That's a few levels away.
I think he's invisible ;)
The man turned, wide-eyed, as the masked monster barrels through the crowd. Shouts of fear and excitement let out as the attacker's club slams into the robed man's face, sending a spatter of blood in the air. As he falls, people begin to run, screaming.
Outside, the carriage is already about fifty feet down the street. The Hellknights are behind it, dragging the man with chains. However, a well-dressed man, with black-and-red robes has stayed behind. Clutching a scroll in his hands, he announces to a crowd of ragged people, "By the order of the Captain Gorim, these men and women were brought to justice. They were traitors to the great nation of Cheliax, and damaging to our Captain himself. Captain Gorim would like to extend his sympathies to the homeowners of Lindain Street.
Here-I've been out of town on sudden notice, and I was mistaken about how Viscount was to introduce his character. My mistake, sorry. A new post is up in Gameplay.
Interrupting Cillian are three shrill howls. Your ears pick up the faint clopping of hooves nearby. A cacophony of noise suddenly picks up. Yells, shattering glass, a whip.
And at this point, the 15-point buy is probably your best option haha.
Wow, very cool stuff. I like it. The Ironborns are cool-and I'm cool with the killing of Cillian's father, if he is. I'll PM you to take care of how you'll be introduced.
I wouldn't have expected that, that sounds interesting!
Wow, feel free to reroll if you want. Or go with the 15 pointer, whichever. As for the plot-frankly, I don't have the money for an AP. Right now, we're going to get you guys out of the sewer and into your new base. From there, I have plans. You'll have villains, events, real characters, and real direction. Viscount K-Cillian appears to be Batman, and Beorn strikes me as a bit Hulk-esque.
Sounds like a deal. Beorn, you alright with that?
Well, yeah. I think you two are all that's left. I don't specifically know anybody, but I could open another recruitment thread. Anyone on your (Cillian's) recommendation I'm fine with.
Wow. Very good writing, and a cool premise.
Alright, we can cut through the sewers.
The dagger lodges itself in the goblin's back. The monster stumbles before Beorn strikes a killing blow with his blade.
The goblin falls with a ear-splitting crack. The remaining goblin screams and runs in the opposite direction from you.
I'll give Cillian the day and Ventus another, and then the third goblin will have its turn.
The goblin screams before he's split in two. The other goblins howl in a mixture of fear and rage and charge the barbarian. One swings his knife at Beorn's shins, but the Ulfen reacts quickly and dodges the blow.
The first of the goblins leaps at Beorn, jabbing a rusty knife at his head, but missing and slamming into the wall with a howl.
Beorn, go for it. The goblins are about ten feet away.
Cillian's Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 .
Ventus's Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
As you walk all seems calm. But without warning, a bright light fills the corridor, and as you turn, you see a few goblins, each carrying torches in their hands, screaming and giggling wildly while sprinting towards you. You hear their twisted song, "Break the bones, throw the stones, goblins eat, goblins beat! Steal the blades, make our raids, goblins eat tonight!
There aren't any masterwork tools, although there is a flattened pipe that could, in a pinch, be used as a crowbar.
There's no one in the room. It's a small room, with iron floors and walls. Rust creeps along the ground and up the sides of the doorway, and in the middle sits a wooden table, chairs, and a pile of tools.
I don't expect your characters to go in there and ignore their lack of time, but it's there. Maybe there's something in there of interest, maybe it's empty. It won't change things that much either way.
What are you trying to figure out with your Knowledge check?
The sewers are grimy and dark, and as you hurry you can't help but feel an urgency to your movement and an unnatural fear of the darkness. The water rises and falls as it flows, and you realize you can't really see what exactly is in this water.
It's eerily quiet outside-the chilling silence of midnight has set upon you. If you all don't leave soon, Harhzen is bound to come back here-and probably with a squad of Hellknights. There was also the figure across the street that seemed to be watching you. You're operating on limited time. What's your plan?
I definitely get it-I'm sorry, guys. I think that when I started this one of my goals was to have the campaign open-ended and player-driven. However, I haven't really provided enough structure, I don't think. Rest assured, I have a bit of a planned story, so I'll work to make sure that a. you guys can have options and make plans and b. that I kick posting up a notch and advance the plot.
Yeah, you guys are badass. Well, Harhzen turned out to be a double agent, and you said that you gave Grafelda a mission outside of town-and I already have some plans for your meeting her again.
Well, that only leaves Geoffrey and Ventus, who both posted on Thursday, which is relatively recent.
That is gonna be so cool.
Alright, assuming nobody has anything else they need to do in the basement-what's next?
Let's cut to the basement.
As you all step into the warehouse...
Shall we skip to the warehouse?
The streets seem empty near you. The air is quiet, so you have a greater span of hearing than normal. There are guards, but most are up on the walls, still recovering from the spectacle that was Ventus's illusion.
Alright :) Have a great time!
The guards enter the tower as Ventus falls, yelling up the stairs. Luckily none seem to have seen him leave.
I'd rule it spell-like. However...Ventus notices a conveniently placed window-ledge about 65 feet below him. Underneath the ledge are a series of gargoyles he could probably climb down.
That was the goal, yes. I'll PM Ventus.
Yeah, I definitely understand that. Hopefully this isn't too tough on you guys.
