Raina grabs the javelin, pushing the leaping dog-man slightly off balance (halve attack's effect of damage on Lizbeth). "This way, before they come back through the door!" She motions back towards the trap door before she looks down towards Yadue, Felicia, and Adeline. "You three had better be alright down there! We'll be a few steps behind you! Holler if you need help!" Lizbeth's first thought is of self-preservation. She holds up the beautiful side of salted beef she had been carrying in a rucksack. It's mere inches from her face- she hopes that the dog-man will be distracted long enough for her to get away from him. (Roll luck? haha) Durga pushes with her full weight against the door and holds it in place as Aurelia bars it. (Does this require a roll?) Gavin watches the beast crumble, satisfied that his trap worked. He then climbs down the trap door behind the others, keeping the torch in front of him and his knife close in case there are any surprises.
In Durga's inelegant tumble to the floor, she managed to drop one of her torches. It clattered to the ground a few feet from her. Now that the two creatures (and poor Aviel) are dead, she climbs to her feet in time to see the sheep headed her way. She waves her torch at the sheep in an attempt to keep them from rushing past her. The last thing they need is more attention being drawn to the back of the lodge. Lizbeth manages to lift her feet just in time for the ox to slam into her, carrying her forward towards the front door. Raina's hair looks particularly shiny in the glow of the torch light. She plants her feet and glares towards the front door as she shifts her rolling pin from one hand to the other. Defend (1,6) +1= 8 Gavin looks towards the pungent smoke in alarm, then back at the now over-crowded front door. He decides to take his chances in the trap door. He backs away slowly towards the door and grabs a torch on his way towards the trap door, watching to see if any of the creatures get caught in his trap before he heads below.
Lizbeth remembers the day the young boy came into her shop looking for food. He had been chased by those dog men for hours through the woods, when finally he found himself waist-deep in a bog. He stank like the sewers, and he was convinced that it was the smell that saved him. Those dog men couldn't tell him apart from the bog itself! But that bit of information won't help her now that there's an ox headed straight towards her. "Deos be damned!" She clutches the cleaver to her chest and attempts to dive out of the way. Defy Danger (Dex)- (3,1) +1= 5 Raina points her chair towards Yadue and the trapdoor. "Everyone who's standing around, get to the door! Come on, now!" She attempts to stand between the door and any creatures that may approach. (Defend?) Gavin carefully watches Fred and the others fight off the creature at the door. He's ready to stab with his knife once an opportunity presents itself. Durga grabs the head of the prone dogman, slamming her hammer into its skull. At least, it would have worked had the beast not shifted at the last moment. Hack & Slash (1,1) +1= 3
"It's no use, the door won't hold much longer." Gavin clears a space a few feet from the door and lays out a bear trap. He stands behind it, knife in hand and waits. If anyone gets too close to the trap he warns them away. Raina grabs one of the few remaining chairs and stands a few feet in front of Felicia, addressing her. "You might want to arm yourself. Or move. It's going to get messy once that door comes down." Lizbeth takes a deep breath and stands to the left of Ceridwen. "I hear they smell better than they see. You think that's true? Well, better to be safe. You poke its eyes out and I'll chop off that monstrous snout!" Durga quietly stands, taking a torch in each hand and following Aviel and Aurelia to the back entrance. It's not typically barred, but hopefully someone had the sense to block it off once the attack started.
Durga is tending to the hearth at the back of the room, keeping the coals bright. She feels most at home by a fire, even in a situation like this. As she stokes the flames, she carefully scans the room for any other means of escape. Lizbeth stands near the front of the room, one hand on her hip and one hand clutching her cleaver. "I'm not dyin' in here! Listen up everyone, you got something sharp, point it that way!" As she watches the door start to buckle, her nerves betray her and she takes a step back. Gavin speaks in a calm, clear voice to those around him. "The guards will protect us. There's no need to panic. For now, let's do what we can to block the door." He motions to others to help push any benches and tables towards the front of the room. Raina searches through the crowd for a guard. Instead, she finds Yadue. "You'll protect us, won't you?"
