Ok so I found a thread about toughness feat, but I can not for the life of me understand how people read this feat as 3+1 hit point per HD. So I will break the feat down and how I understand it and hopefully someone can tell me whats wrong with my thinking. Toughness
For every Hit Die you possess beyond 3, you gain an additional +1 hit point.
If you have more than 3 Hit Dice, you gain +1 hit points whenever you gain a Hit Die (such as when you gain a level).
I see this feat as giving basically 1 hit point per lvl. 3 at first lvl then another one for every lvl after 3 HD/lvl 3. Please someone explain how people read this as 3 hit points + 1 per HD. ![]()
This is probably stated somewhere however I can not find it on the website.. if my monk has the Amulet of Mighty Fists +5 would this could as an enhancement bonus for his attacks to count for overcomming DR such as cold/iron, adamantine, and allignment based DR"s.. I know it works for regular weapons. ![]()
Hello everyone, just want to start off saying how much I love this site and the help everyone gives! Ok so this is probably more of a rules question / Advice so I just put it here lol. I was going to ask my GM about making my DD's claws / bite attack permanent because I wanted to go for more of a mellee char who only splashes some magic in... High ST/CON, Avg CHA/DEX, Low INT/WD. Do you think this it to powerful? if so why? and if so is there something I can offer to get rid of in order to have the ability up full time ( or able to grow as free action at anytime ). I am really liking this idea and wanted to hear some feedback, it just makes me feel more like a dragon.. as it currently stands after I have used my claws for X-amount of times per day I feel like a declawed cat... thankyou in advance for your thoughts. ![]()
1- Does a large creature (or bigger) take more damager from area effect spells such as Fireball, Lighting Bolt, Heat damage from firewall? I know Meteor Swarm does because it specifically targets more than one hex just curious. 2- How does a fog/cloud/smoke work? if I cast Fog around my wizard and he is in the middle of it who is exactly effected? Lets say I cast it and there is a fighting right in front of me also in it, and a ranger 50ft away, and a Oracle with blindsense curse 50ft away..what would the effects exactly be to everyone, including the wizard? Can a spellcaster target anyone within the cloud with basically just the 50% miss chance? Thankyou in adavance for the answers just a couple things that came up at last nights game and we just wanted to double check to see what we did right and wrong. Edit: I know fog is only 20% miss chance but last night it was some kind of smoke that worked like fog but at total concealment 50% so thats what i said 50%. ![]()

ok cool, so let me ask you I am trying to decide if I should buy a metamagic, selective rod for my witch for things like black tentacles, sticking cloud, etc.. could she use it? because I do see it says you need the selective spell feat and craft Rod.. but I just want to craft it just buy it lol. She is level 12 btw. ![]()
ok, so I had a quick qustion. Many of the magic items/rods/staves/etc.. all have a CL-#lvl assosciated with it. Does the person using the item have to be at least that high of lvl to use it? or make it? or what. And since it says caster level can another char use that magic item? such as a rogue/fighter.. who aren't casters. ![]()
Another simple question probably from this idiot lol... ok so my char has Headband of Mental Superiority +4. Could I also buy a Tome of Clear Thought + 1-5? Would they stack since they are comming from different areas or no just the higher one like usual? Also can you keep buying Tomes of Clear Thought to keep increasing your IQ/CHA/WD? Thankyou in advance for the help I know it probably says it somewhere in the book. ![]()
So I have seen a couple of characters and monsters have spells they can cast "at will". I dont know if I have mis-read or just missed it in the book but what does "at will" technically mean, how is it different than a regular casting of a spell? Also can a spellcasting class such as wizard, sorc, etc.. ever learn spells in her spellbook at will at some point? if so how? ![]()

ok couple questions here. A. is wall of fire a straightline or can it be shaped? B. if it can be shaped the side of the wall you choose can it be inside or outside or does it have to be like blowing north, south, east, west. basically if this is true why would u ever do the radius when you can have it go through them then go around them and blow inward taking fire damage + heat dmg + more heat dmg. please help soon this just happened and we are looking for an answer. ![]()
I come from playing a very old rpg called The Fantasy Trip aka TFT. Where you only threatened your front 3 hexes for attacks and vision and what not. However I was reading the core rulebook for the hundreth time now lol and was wondering, it states that you threated any hex into which you could make a melee attack. Then for melee attack it says, "With a normal melee weapon, you can strike any opponent within 5 feet. (Opponents within 5 feet are considered adjacent to you.)" So with pathfinder does that mean if you have a 5ft reach you can make a melle attack at any creature within 360 degrees of you? basically I am use to all the facing rules for attacks and wanted to know if they applied. Sorry for the newbie question just getting use to these rules and trying to get TFT rules out of my head lol. Off topic would facing effect any kind of role for perception etc.. for noticing things then also? ![]()
While under the effect of the spell Invisibility, I understand hitting a char with any attack/spell stops the effect. However what if you make an attack roll and miss? since you missed and never hit your target does invisibility still end since technically no one was the target of your attack/spell? Perhaps maybe only a perception check to locate the 5ft square the invisible creature is in? |
