I seem to be having trouble getting the voucher code. Am I not looking at the right spot when I click the link?

I’m so sad! xD I wanted in this game so bad and didn’t realize it had been picked up. Damn my bad luck lol

Fingers crossed somebody takes this game up. I’d love to play it out

I'll have to bow out too sadly. I was excited to try out the Trox but work has gotten nuts and I'm still being kinda picky with my character. Good luck all

If 16 was still ok as it was earlier, I can take Nat Armor to replace some of my lost bulk(2 RP for +1 Nat Armor) but that's up to you. I will be replacing burrowing though for Tremorsense that the SRD says I can exchange. I'll build the character when I'm out of work and have my computer

Go ahead and take the natural armor. If your character is chosen and so is one significantly lower in RP, I will do a bit of adjusting, but it's not so OP as to make that hard to do.

I'll build with that in mind then. It should be balanced. If I end up needing readjustment to high RP I will likely attempt to return as much as possible towards a traditional Trox. If I end up getting the higher Str (+6 or +8) I'll purposely place it on one of my lower stats. Likely that 9 I have to put somewhere lol

I'm glad this concept works xD I'm good with losing the extra 4 Strength(from Advanced and from Size Large) I was kinda hoping to stay large and be the Groot of the group but that's cool. Those two loses drop me from 28 to 17rp. If I lost Monsterous humanoid I'd be at 14. I didn't get reach being large(a separate ability in the race book). Did you want me to go that low or could some things be kept. I would mind keeping the size (even without the reach or stat changes)
If the size large makes a big difference to the fun, we can make it work. Why don't you see what adjustments you can come up with that's at or below 15RP?

I love the idea, so let's work together to find a way to make this work. How about a 'small trox' race? Size medium, remove the advanced strength and monstrous humanoid bits, and you're left with a 16 RP race, which is more reasonable. It's still insect-like, but fits in better with a party.

Damerrich if you please. The dude is the most evil looking defender of Law ever. He deserves a page :3 though I'd love to see Apsu :3

I wouldn't compare a Hobgoblin in this game to someone like Drizzt for the drow. I'd almost say like Finn from the new Star Wars. Or hell...if you really wanted to throw in some major story fodder, perhaps the Hobgoblin player stumbles across the party and wants to use the group to take control for himself xP

As for the problems people mention for playing races that require extra work from the GM to make people hate the PC. I can't speak for everybody, but I, myself, like to play monsterous races and ones generally frowned upon but I personally want difficulty. If it were me, I'd be fully aware people would glare and possibly attack or frame my Hobgoblin, but hey, that makes the world more immerse and fun and makes me feel like I am not just some human. Again, that's just me though.

This is so painful. I bought the book, but its been stuck on pending for days now xD I'm so impatient, I need it now! How much longer do I gotta wait before its finally shipped? Dx

Warpriest has an archetype that basically makes you a paladin. A Grey Paladin is also an option xP

I'm interested in this game.
Question: Prestige still a thing as well? I kinda want to do an Android Fighter/Sorceror and eventually transform into a Dragon Disciple. I have this image of a partially mechanical dragon I have to work out xD

I used mystic theurge recently, but I did it with a Magus/Warpriest(cleric would work fine too) combo. The combination of their spells works great, especially with the ability to quick buff and then shove an Inflict Critical woulds into a Scimitar. I've never done full casters before with it, but I know Theurge can bring some solid pain

Sulu is your example?! Sulu, who couldn't be gay on Star Trek even if Roddenberry and/or Takei wanted him to, because they had to fight like hell to even get a single brief interracial kiss on the screen?

Takei mentioned that, that in those times they were already struggling staying on air. That doesn't change the fact that the character has been made and even the actor who is a huge supporter for gay rights would rather see a new character be made than his old one changed when the concept is what it is. The point is, Riri shouldn't have to be a Iron Man just to sell or make people happy, she should be her own thing and thats what all should want from her, to not need a mans hand me down role set for her and to live her own empowered identity(or in this case super powered).

I agree its pandering and mostly lazy to not make a unique character and taking the chance to build amazing characters with these characteristics. Prime example outside of comics: Mr. Sulu. In the new movies they're going to have the character come out as gay, clearly reference to George Takei and all about appeasement. Cause even Mr. Takei himself said it's disappointing because that is not how the character was conceived. He wishes the people behind it had instead made a new, interesting character naturally gay and have him be with the group center stage to not just feel like his sexuality was just slapped on or swapped out "just because". That's my approach of it, like George I'd would be way more into the idea of these characters coming out with their own unique personas rather than needing to be reinvented versions of exisiting characters.

I see some folks are kinda defensive about this, but you need to understand this isn't myself(or others I would hope, hating the idea on the idea of a female hero being on par with this "white males" thats all the rage to hate on right now. This is requesting that this girl that Tony is discovering, be allowed to have her own growth, her own character and not just be "Lady Iron Man" but be here OWN character that makes you go, "f#&~ yeah! We need a movie about her!"

Very interested in this. Question: With all the chaos running around in this, would the possibility of being a Hellknight open up later in the game? Thats the first idea I had for this, sorta fighting back the chaos of Menzoberranzan with the order of hell. Just curious if you'd have a way for me to acquire that prestige.

If not I've got ideas and I'm dotting regardless. xD

Still looking? I'll submit a Kobold tanky fighter if so xP though it'll be odd with the -2 str I can manage it somehow i think xD

I know that feeling my friend. I have a few races I've built and I like the race book. Unfortunetly many don't allow it just because there is that group that can't be trusted, and from what I've seen most people are here prefer to stick to the core. I even have a thread on here looking for those who love the more uncommon races and even still some like to mention they prefer to avoid the other races.

I've always thought the custom races shined the best though now when they are making something from another game instead of making the +8 Int abusive monstrocity.

I've made Elites from Halo and Murloc's from WoW and both were a blast to play. I'd love to see a game with more freedom in races and build pop up some time

I don't see how Wrath was a bad game. It was really well written. The story was great and it actually took you all the way to level 20 unlike most of these other AP's. I'm guessing most of the complaints game from GM's who couldn't adapt. I notice when I dig through these forums GM's prefer to keep to the core and keep your stats low. Idk, I do see a line in those saying mythic was poor and those defending it. I feel like if you're gonna do a mythic game the GM should be prepared to adapt. I had problems sure, but I was able to tweak the game from the book and my players had lots of fun.

Sold me at gnoll. I'll work on something :3 I've had a concept I've never gotten off the ground of being the mega-tank fighter. Especially with all the cool stuff for fighter in the Weapon and Armor master books. I'll build for this and try to keep the party safe :3 A gnoll who believes he was meant to be a flind. xD

I need this book so bad. Please paizo, ship this out before comic con in San Diego so I can buy it there ASAP lol

Maybe a pair of rogue/monks? Or you can go like typical honor guard status and go like polearm master fighters and mix it with something support like cleric

^^^ this right here.

Mithral adds plus +2 max dex and -2 acp. Because it is always masterwork without exception, it adds an additional -1 acp for a total of +2 max dex and -3 acp. The book implies a use of common sense and basic mathmatic and reading comprehension to suggest that mithral armor gives what it gives, and a mithral weapon would provide a +1 to hit and count as silver for Damage Reduction.

You can be chaotic evil, one of the triats is made for it, normal Antipaladin isnt banned, and chaotic evil demon worshiper doesn't have to be stupid and burn the city to the ground. The can play the long con. The iconic Antipaladin for this character worships Mazmezz and is all about the long con.

Remember, you are a team of villians and while chaotic evil does betray its allies, it will always smash good first. I'm playing this game too as a Warpriest that worships Lamashtu. But again, the demon lords were only a suggestion, the only thing stopping you is whether or not YOU want to do it. The AP doesnt discourage it.

I caught my player cheating once, I didn't tell him I caught him, I just sat back and between sessions thought of 3 gruelingly difficult trials. Test one was a test of the character, putting him against what he wasn't built for(east cause the player likes to be a one-trick pony). Second was a test for the player, to show humility since he's "that guy" that talks smug, never feels pain or experiences fear. Third was the toughest of all, I put him in a room with another player character, one that loves to point out what he's doing wrong and F with him, and told him to tolerate everything thrown at him until the designated time was up.

All was done in character, by a omniponent fourth wall breaking God, deened to punish him for acts out of his characters control. Should he fail the test his character would be gone forever. When he passed them all, I was impressed, but I still told him at the end, why I punished him, and to not do it again or this time the test would be designed to be failed and he would lose the character in awful ways. It's nasty, but it did get my point across and it didn't happen again so point for me lol

Consider taking the feat Demonic Obedience and looking up the different demon lords. Its great story and fluff for your character, the feat opens up as you level from 3 and beyond to offer some pretty powerful boons from your Demon Lord. Whether or not you take the prestige class for it means nothing as the main focus is the boons

I see, I admit I'm wrong in this then, though it does bug me that I am. It's a bit odd that this wouldn't be a race bonus like the +2 it has against poison. Just an annoying little thing I'll have to keep in mind.

Well techincally, the bonus from Nagaji race is a "Racial bonus" to the armor class. Since it is from their race, and the turtle bonus comes from their class it would stack. The class grants an unspecified bonus which is clearly not a race bonus so therefore should stack.

Just my own two cents, but if you ask me, its two sources providing an different bonus since there is a list of bonuses that don't stack in the Core book.

That's not at all how things work. Just because something comes from a race doesn't make it racial bonus. To be a racial bonus it has to actually specify its a racial bonus. And coming from a class or not is immaterial as well, but the bonus is not untyped, its a natural armor type bonus.

I don't really see how that works? If it comes from the race and doesn't specify it is another type of of bonus is should be a race bonus. Dwarf specifies dodge bonus for its defensive training. I can't imagine the argument that that bonus isn't a race bonus when it's listed under its defensive racial traits.

Racial bonus even says the bonus comes from the culture they were brought up in or of innate characteristics of the race. I'd say "scaly flesh" counts as an innate characteristic to qualify as a racial bonus to natural armor.

Vampires are typically evil, but like all creatures it isn't the only thing they can be. It's just the norm. Usually the rule is only creatures with the Evil subtype HAVE to be evil, so she could rise as a paladin still. She would first need to seek the atonement spell because she rose as an undead if she wished to stay good and then function as a Vampire Paladin.

With Sarenrae as he God it gets tricky. The goddess would offer he redemption and probably even healing, but she could never feed as a follower of sarenrae. Now a more vicious god like Ragathiel or Torag might be ok with her feeding if she only targets evil creatures and prevents them from rising as the undead. Ragathiel is a LG diety of vengeance too so this is all food for thought. If she followed the red winged angel of vengeance and sought to use her undead powers to punish in the name of justice it could 100% be viable.

Honestly, you're better off with impact. Because its an enchantment on the weapon and not a spell active on the weapon, if you for whatever reason increase your size like with Enlarge Person or Righteous Might(much better), the weapon damage will also increase. Righteous Might is also an armor enchant so you could be doing some pretty good stuff without needing to waste a few turns activating them all

I forgot to mention a monster to fight. How about one of the Heralds. All the God's have a herald and they're usually pretty bulky and awesome. Like the Lord of Chains for Zon-Kuthon

I'll dot this and make something for it.

I'm planning on going probably Hunter/Fighter and doing like a lizardfolk dinosaur rider. I thought maybe doing Cavalier but I feel Hunter will cover that a bit better and come in riding a triceratops. Before I actually go through with that though, what are rules/opinions/regulations on animal companions?

Dot. Very interested. Loving playing weird things. Normally do lizardfolk when able but I'm already doing one so I'll think of something else fun soon. Post will be up later today.

Dotting for interest. Gonna make a Human fighter, be the tank for the group. Wanna try out some of the cool stuff from the Armor and Weapon master books. See if these buffs to fighter can make them work wonders now.

@GM infinity - for the special abilities you mentioned, how would you feel about a once per rest ability like a gut intuition. Something to give a small circumstance buff to like perception or sense motive. Kind of like getting a hunch

I'll dot this for interest. I really don't know what I want to do, but I am interested in whats going on here xD

Thanks! The info is still appreciated. I'll leave this post up though cause you never know. Might get lucky xD

Live near Imperial Beach in San Diego CA. Looking for up to three new players to join 3 veterans in a homebrew game I will start dming soon. Most of my other group have become shut in hermits since moving in together but I've got three that are reliable. I'm looking to get three others that can be at the very least once a week reliable and get fresh blood for the blood god. Message me if interested.

Oh! Thanks for the notice guys~! Even better! xD

Hmmm...probably gonna stick with point buy 20. Rolled so many 1's lol

I'd like to throw my hat into this :3 I'll be sure to make something and post it up really soon ^^

Personally, I think Wrath of the Righteous was my favorite. I GM'd that and it did require an extra bit of tuneing since the PC's get powerful fast if they aren't watched. The story though of going from soldiers of the crusade to demigods fighting Demon Lords though was amazing! Not morally sound though could prove a slight issue in a story like this though xD

I'm about to play as well. Food for thought, I'm going a Warpriest of Lamashtu, though I had also considered Pazuzu and Deskari. If you want something like I'm doing, look into Demoniac and work with something with one of the many awesome look demon lords in the Lord's of Chaos book. Flauros could be fun too to worship xD

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The alignment system is as Rednal said, about the broad look on someones life. The intentions behind their actions is what gives the alignment and from what I've personally seen, those who rebel against the alignment system mostly don't want the broad look about them to be seen as evil, despite the game calling them out on such.

When a "good person" makes a bunch of molotov cocktails to "help the party" but instead every time he gets into a altercation with another party member pulls one out and threatens the entire roome (innocent civilians and fellow party members alike) thats where the arguement comes into play.

True is, some alignments are clean cut in how different they are and some have a much thinner line. They shouldn't be the only focus on the game, but sometimes I think a lot of these arguements could be settled and these battles over alignment would cease if you could just step back from your character, look him over from an outside perspect and judge him by what his general look is.

So I gotta drop actually. The other RotR game lost a player so my Lizardfolk got in. What are the odds? Gotta avoid spoilers, good luck here ^^

That's cool, gave it a shot. Gonna aim for a Warpriest/Whirling Dervish of Sarenrae. Something that'll make healing a snap while still giving me something fun to build on. Holy fire seems like something good, and if I go Aasimar I can try to take the angel thing to the next level xD I'll get something up soon. (also read back and saw the part about the homebrew feat for Aasimar racial heritage. I'll keep it in mind so no worries.)

Hmm, well I'll definetly be a Warpriest of some kind just to provide some healing and extra support/tanky news. I'm thinking between the Warpriest/Pali Lizardfolk, or If not going Cleric/Fighter and doing a different kind of Warpriest lol that one will be core race though, maybe dwarf. Let me know what you think GM

Dotting for interest, how much longer will you be looking? Want to know how much time I have to make something good. Also would you be willing to take a different race into consideration? I'm still kinda looking for a game to play a lizardfolk warpriest of Apsu and I had made it for a different Rise of the Runelords(didnt get into that one sadly) xD gotta throw out my line everywhere if I'm gonna catch that fish! If not I'd still make something else to join in on the fun!

I'm interested. I'm going to go Paladin/Fighter Multiclass here. Going to go Angel Blooded Aasimar and bring Evil its reckoning to the moon and back xD Already juggling around how I'll do this. Background and more to come soon!
