About Zaza the Measure
Background:
Born of an unusual union of a Shoanti father and an orc mother, Zaza's early years were complicated. Her father's influence allowed her to stay with the clan but her orc blood drew the ire and suspicion of many Shoanti, particularly the elders. Her mother was made to live some miles away from the clan and was tolerated if not welcomed.
As a young girl her forceful personality and desire for fairness led her to be the primary mediator and rules arbiter among her peers. This led to her being given the name "Bringer of Laws" after her rite of passage into adulthood.
Her elderly father died in a hunting accident shortly thereafter and her mother found her presence near the clan no longer permitted. Zaza and her mother moved to Urgir, her mother's birthplace and after a bit of acclimation Zaza joined the city's equivalent of a police force. Ultimately her integrity and sense of fairness caused her to become dissatisfied with the orcish way of life.
The capture of four young goblin troublemakers provided the opportunity for her to leave Urgir. She agreed to assist the Pathfinder Society by escorting these recruits to the Grand Lodge in Absalom. The City at the Center of the World and the Pathfinder Society appealed to her so she decided to stay and join the ranks of the Pathfinders.
