Background
Easily fascinated by the stories of the clockwork machinery of the big city, Zatlemiher (or Zat as he prefers to be called) was never going to be able to stay in the rustic farm town he was born into. From a young age he would tinker with the farm machines, sometimes making them better, sometimes causing interesting explosions and other times causing effects that could only be described as "magic." When he was finally old enough to go off on his own, he struck out, walking nowhere in particular (being too absorbed in planning his newest contraption to ask directions). He wound up moving from place to place sometimes meeting with the wrong people but always picking up some new piece of knowledge. He's lived with every sort of folk imaginable out in the wilderness but has finally found his way to Cromora, intent on perfecting his craft and getting status as an independent deputy.
Mad genius by trade, Zat is an eager "young" engineer with a knack for gears and springs.
