Background:
As a child, Yuld stared at the stars for hours. He sat upon the roof of a shack throughout the night, pondering their endless beauty. They was a mysticality to them, that which Yuld could not understand for some time. In fact, it seemed that no one else could. Not his teachers, who taught basic arithmetic. Nor his father, who dabbled in alchemy to sell medicine. Yuld decided there was only one person who could find the truth - himself.
Yuld spent his time drawing the stars, attempting to find reason to their formation. He knew the constellations by heart, but desired to find their origin. Perhaps some were by divine right, but what of the stars that fit into no constellation?
This endless study and devotion turned to strength. Yuld began to understand the power behind the movements of the stars, even if he could only tap into it lightly. He began to take diligent notes of it crafting theory after theory. Nothing ever came up conclusive.
With this, Yuld concluded he was missing experience. He had only seen the stars from one perspective: from his home, and with his own eyes. He needed to explore different views, from the location to the beholder. Perhaps then, he could fully take in the majesty of the stars.
But such a journey would require money. Lots of it, depending on where he went. Taking his meager belongings and buying himself some weapons for defense, he responded to a call made by the Mayor of Saringallow. It was not far, for sure, but perhaps the job would make a tidy profit, and the stars would be different enough from there.
Appearance and Personality:
Yuld is a brown-haired Chelixian man, garbed in long robes. He usually carries around a book of some kind, reading it as he walks (to the discomfort and annoyance of those around him). His dark eyes are glossy, but flicker with life whenever he finds a subject of interest. Yuldś voice tends to be vague and distant, much like the stars he adores.
Yuld takes the most pride in study and work, finding allies in other scholars. He is more than willing to discuss his findings with anyone, however, with some measure of pride mixed in with his words. While friendly, Yuld’s boredom to certain topics compared with eccentric fascination in others can be frustrating to deal with.
