About Yara Slaid

A human female hailing from Alkenstar, Yara Slaid was born into a modestly wealthy family known for its manufacture of breach-loading muskets.

Unfortunately for her parents, Yara really enjoyed the feel of using muskets in battle, and her disruptive behaviour led to her quietly embarking on an adventure as a 'sell-sword' of sorts, to avoid embarrassment to her family, learning a lot about the world, before eventually finding reliable work in the pathfinder society of Absalom.

Upon leaving the mana wastes, she also began to notice that she had minor arcane abilities that had been suppressed by the dead magic of her birthplace, discovering from her parents that she may have trace amounts of Ifrit ancestry.

Generally Yara likes to do whatever she feels like doing, but is sufficiently wise enough to know that sometimes it's safer to toe the line. She has a fondness for demonstrating her firearm, especially in battle, and will always honor mercenary contracts.

Yara can be a hot-headed individual at times, and her temperament can rub people the wrong way sometimes, but she is loyal to those she sees as friends, and always tries to have a good time.
