Are you more bored with the character herself or the build? If it's just the build, I'm sure some retooling could fix things pretty easily with zero impact on the game and if it's the character, we are at a pretty good dropping off point in the storyline if you did feel like subbing in something that fills a similar role. It's Alastair's call at this point, but I give my blessing to you doing either.

If you're looking in the direction of an entirely new character, someone affiliated with the city guard might be a good launching point at this juncture in the story, but I'm sure you could make anything work if it's given the go-ahead.

Sounds great! I've been using this page for stats of things updated to Pathfinder if that helps.

"Sister... she didn't mention having a sister, but to be honest she didn't really tell us much about her own reasons for wanting Lamm dealt with at all. Either way, this stench is making me a bit queasy; if it makes no difference to the rest of you, I'm going to step out for a bit of air." His cloak held up over his nose, Xavaros steps out of the small room back into the larger chamber.

Xavaros Heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15

Xavaros stands puzzled looking at the head in the box. "She appears to have been dead for a number of weeks."

Xavaros
HP 11/11

Pressing his back against the wall to put as much space between himself and the crocodile as he can manage, Xavaros extends his arm downward at the hungry reptile and his ring glows vibrantly as a shimmering blast of prismatic lights bursts forth from his palm.

Standard: Cast color spray (DC 16) using Arcane Bond.

Well I think our aim is to kill him. The Grease just adds a little extra difficultly to him escaping if he tries to make a run for it and forced him into melee this round since he couldn't 5-foot back and reload/shoot. I think we'll be fine since we have J13 open that Rivane can move into to avoid falling down and Alastair should be able to get in there fine with his high Acrobatics.

Should I dismiss the Grease on my turn or keep it around? Keeping it around makes it harder for Gaedran to escape, but will make us take DC 10 Acrobatics checks to surround him. I'd imagine that probably wouldn't be too hard for Alastair with his +8, but Rivane might have a little more trouble with his -2 unless he's planning to focus on the Croc with Travigan or we leave J13 open for him.

HP 11/11

Rushing into the room, Xavaros pauses for a split second when he sees Lamm, "Time has not been kind to you old man. I have waited decades for this moment - today is the day you die!"

The elf moves up behind Rivane as he calls out the completion words to his prepared spell and points in the old thief's direction. "There is no escape for you now; your end will be here!"

Move: Move to P13
Standard: Xavaros casts grease (DC 16)

Following the others accross the walkway, Xavaros readies his crossbow and glances from side to side on the lookout for danger.

"Either path works for me, but we had best decide quickly before Rivane's blessing fades," he replies as he anxiously grips the bow. 'Lamm can't be far now...'

Xavaros sheathes his dagger and walks around the stairway to retrieve his crossbow. "We should check this walkway before heading back. It's possible the boy was not fully informed, but Lamm's lair could be just ahead."

As the elf slings the crossbow back over his shoulder, he frowns at the doorway as he silently finishes his thought, 'And if Lamm is still hiding here somewhere, we can't leave until he's been dealt with.'

Xavaros
HP 11/11

'This isn't working' Lifting the crossbow sling over his shoulder and letting the weapon clatter to the ground, Xavaros draws his dagger from its sheath and rushes around the stairs to a position next to the spider. "I'm not very good with this knife, but I'll try to draw its attention. Someone squash this thing!"

Aid Another: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19

Oh come on...Of course I had to try the Aid Another instead of just criticalling...

Free: Drop Crossbow
Move: Move to O5 and draw Dagger
Standard: Aid Another

Also technically speaking I think only Rivane should normally get the bonus since he's the only one currently in melee, but switching to my DM Kacy hat I'm going to just say whoever attacks it gets the bonus. Kill that thing Travigan!

That's good thinking; I probably should have had Xavaros do that actually as his chances of hitting with the crossbow firing into melee are pretty slim.

Xavaros
HP 11/11

Stepping around the staircase to behind Rivane, Xavaros takes aim at the closest spider and fires off another bolt.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 4 = 14

'Damn it!' The crossbow bolt strikes the ground next to the spider and the wizard reaches for another bolt. 'If this keeps up much longer, I'll have to resort to the last of my magic...'

Free: 5-foot step to M6
Standard: Attack Drain Spider in O6
Move: Reload crossbow.

Xavaros
HP 11/11

Xavaros steps forward and takes aim at the spider attacking Red with his crossbow.

Xavaros Attack: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 4 = 12

The bolt goes wide and impacts against the wall of the barge with a thunk. Cursing under his breath in Elven, Xavaros draws out another bolt and reloads the weapon for his next shot.

Free: 5-foot step to M5.
Standard: Attack Spider in K4
Move: Reload Crossbow.

Xavaros pulls his hood up as the party steps back outdoors and follows the group around the side of the building. Eyeing the slippery planks with concern, he nods his assent as he slings his crossbow back over his shoulder, "I agree with Red, we should proceed with caution."

Xavaros
HP 11/11

Xavaros smiles as the gnome collapses and steps forward, leveling his crossbow at the frightened thug. In a level voice he says, "You made a mistake working for a creature like Lamm. Now you will pay."

Xavaros Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Xavaros Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Squeezing the trigger, Xavaros looses a bolt into the man's ample gut. Keeping his eyes locked on his foe, he reaches into the pouch of bolts at his waist and loads the weapon for his next shot.

Free: 5-foot step to I17
Standard: Attack
Move: Load crossbow

Xavaros delays.

Xavaros
HP 11/11

Xavaros narrows his eyes as he moves into the room. 'Have to finish this quickly before we alert the whole building.' Grabbing a handful of colored sand from his component pouch, he extends his right hand and whispers a spell. When he opes his hand a vivid cone of colors springs forth and envelops the Half-Orc.

Move: Move to H17
Standard: Cast Color Spray (Will DC 16)

Following the others, Xavaros returns his crossbow to his back and joins in on the effort to break down the door.

Strength: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19

Xavaros shrugs in acquiescence. "It doesn't seem like we have many other options. If we do attempt the door, I suggest we combine our efforts to break it in - better to make one loud noise than several."

Thinking some aid another checks to help break down the door would be a good move if we go that route.

Xavaros eyes the dilapidated building with a cautious gaze. "I think I'll stick with the group. If you want to go around and get a closer look, that is fine, but I suggest we enter together."

Pulling a small piece of cured leather from his componenet pouch, Xavaros whispers a few arcane words and makes a quick gesture over his chest. A brief blue glimmer flickers over his body before disappearing completely. He pulls back his hood as the rain splashes off the invisible forcefield and draws the crossbow from his back. "Whatever course we choose, I am ready."

Xavaros casts Mage Armor and draws his crossbow.

Xavaros watches intently as the Harrow reading proceeds. Though he knows that Harrow does not employ any true divination magic, he has read numerous accounts of readings foretelling events with a great deal of accuracy. Of course, there have also been a number of accounts of fortune tellers being completely wrong or swindling their customers out of piles of gold. Nonetheless, he takes it all in with great interest.

Once the reading is complete and the others begin to react, he nods in agreement. "As I said before, I am with you. I suggest we strike now, under the cover of darkness, and be done with Lamm once and for all."

1d9 ⇒ 7

Narrowing his eyes, Xavaros considers the remaining cards carefully before making his choice.

Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Xavaros raises an eyebrow, "I have heard of Harrow divinations. If you possess the skill to read the cards, please proceed." He then turns to Rivane, "As for the business with Lamm, I am with you. Together, we will make him pay."

Stepping further into the room, Xavaros takes a seat at the table and pours himself a mug of wine. "I am Xavaros Dalanar. Thanks to our mutual friend Lamm, I've spent the past fifty years behind bars beneath Citadel Volshyenek." He pauses to look up at the others, "Wrongfully accused of course." Setting the bottle down, he sits back and takes a long drink. "It seems Lamm has made quite a few enemies since I saw him last."

Turning to face the newcomer, Xavaros reaches into his pocket and pulls out his own card, holding it up for all to see. "I don't know anyone named Naomi either, but I believe you are correct in regards to our common foe." Glancing down to the halfling and back up to the half-elf, he continues, "Do you all seek Gaedran Lamm?"

His pack and crossbow strapped to his back, Xavaros turns the corner onto Lancet Street just as a frigid wind blows in from the West. Pulling his cloak tighter to resist the chill, he walks the rest of the way up the street, up the steps of #3, and through the door.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Staring intently at the tapestries surrounding the chamber, Xavaros nearly trips over the little halfling man who had apparently just entered as well. "My apologies little fellow, I didn't see you there." Looking up from the halfling, he notices the middle aged half-elf at the table. "Ah, hello. I didn't see you either it seems," he says with a slightly embarrassed smile.

Xavaros reads the words scrawled on the back of the Harrow card for the third time before finally allowing himself to blink. After the fifth reading, he takes a deep breath and carefully places the card back in his spellbook, closing the cover. Turning aside the theadbare blankets, he rises and begins to dress. Putting on his dark grey linen breeches, he stares blankly out the window. 'I know what Gaedren has done to you.'

He pulls his once white, now grey shirt over his head and hastily tucks it into his pants, fastening his belt as he does so.'He has wronged me as well.'

Sitting on the edge of his bed, he laces his worn leather shoes and ties them onto his feet. 'I know where he dwells, yet cannot strike at him.'

Opening his pack, he places his spellbook inside along with a sack containing his writing supplies and what little coin he has left. 'Come to my home at 3 Lancet Street at sunset.'

Walking across the room to a rusted footlocker against the far wall, Xavaros pulls an iron key from his pocket and fits it into the lock, popping the lid open. 'Others like you will be there.'

Reaching into the chest, Xavaros pulls out a heavy bundle wrapped in sheet of burlap. Setting the bundle on the bed, he unwraps it to reveal a crossbow, a quiver of bolts, and a dagger. Fastening the quiver and the dagger onto his belt, he picks up the crossbow and tests the weight. 'Gaedren must face his fate.'

Pulling a bolt from the quiver, he loads it into the crossbow, pulling back the lever until the bolt clicks into place. Hefting the loaded weapon, he tests the sights and takes aim at a cockroach slowly scuttling across the wall above his bed. 'And justice must be done.'

Xavaros squeezes the trigger.

Kind of weird replying to my own question, but I want to have it up here for reference :P

Xavaros rents a beat up studio on Harborview Boulevard South in the West Docks ward of the Midland district. It's a pretty terrible place, but it's all he can afford at the moment (assuming he can make next month's rent).
