The acolyte stops and turns toward you. After a moment he steps forward to receive the letter.
"Certainly," he replies in a neutral tone. Taking the letter, he inspects the seal while adding, "The roads were especially muddy this last week. The cemetary on Beggar's Hill was nearly inaccessible, but it had to be blessed, lest the consecration fail."

He is clearly suppressing irritation at being interrupted, but you don't sense any outright duplicity. From what you remember of your previous conversation, he wasn't particularly fond of the party to begin with.
After placing the letter securely in his bags and wishing you good night, he turns and resumes his trek to the dormitory, clearly intent on getting some rest.
"Give my regards to my father," he says over his shoulder as he rounds the arcade and reaches the door.
