Joey! This has been an invaluable aid - my party of 5 or 6 PCs are now finding th AP much more difficult and therefore entertaining. Thanks to your work, I've saved a load of time and gained a load of fun at the table! I'm indebted to you...

Thanks James. The wayfinder guys and gals responsible for their side of things have agreed too. Will upload it to the FG forums later today. Thanks again.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this question .... I have transcribed "Choppers Isle" as found in "Wayfinder" #7 into a module for Fantasy Grounds. (This includes the maps as contained in the pdf.) Can I make the module publicly available, or should I retain it for private use only?

TIA

WE are slowly working through RoTRL. This is my first time as DM and I have a group of 6 - all new to PF and 3 new to RPG. Many chose to use iconics to get them started but I am encouraging them to make the characters their own.

So here goes:

Aerick - Druid
Derum - Monk/Cleric
Dirul - Gunslinger

Thene there's Ezren (!), Merisiel (!) and Valeros (!)

If any pro. GM were to watch any of our sessions they'd see me floundering, fudging, and fouling up the rules (but we're all having fun!)

Cheers.

@Yossarian - yet another fine release. Beautiful and useful. Thanks!

Thanks all - I probably won't use roll20 or d20pro but Fantasy Grounds 2 instead. And I want the maps and stuff to be visible to me only. The players will have their sheets and the tabletop mat to look at as wel las their books. I just want to streamline my references and save a bunch of pageflipping and "hsang on" moments!

Or should I use d20pro?!

Thanks @DisFanGen.
I am playing live - can I use roll20 off-line? If so, I needn't look for anything else (?)

The current interactive image widget has labels that show all the time.

I want a map that has icons on it which, when touched, reveal a pop-up.
Also the map needs to go full-screen and be zoomable.
So I can have the equivalent of a battle-map or dungeon/encounter guide with pop-up descriptions of rooms/locations and npcs/beasts.

I can then include an annotated map of Sandpoint etc. And have detailed area maps for the encounters with mini-stat blocks popping up for NPC and encounter scenarios....

Not much to ask for!

Something like this could be done in HTML5 but I don't have the knowledge.

@Yossarian - are you using iBooks Author? There is so much potential for interactive ebooks of this nature for GMs... I've been toying withthe idea for ages. Just waiting for a decent interactive map widget to appear....

@Yossarian Your "Sandpoint Gamesmaster Notes" is getting better all the time. I go away for a week or two , start thinking of making my own list of houses and services in Sandpoint, I come back to check the forum and - wow - you've beaten me to it. I am much indebted to your hard work.

@Yossarian - your Illustrated Sandpoint NPC list is ... just fantastic.

Where did you get the non-paizo illustrations from? And the page backgrounds. And the font. And ....

Basically I'm jealous and want to make on of my own!!! :)

Thanks @SoylentG - resources that made my heart sing!

And @DBH - the spreadsheet link is cool, but I like to have an NPC deck of cards. SoylentG's stuff gives me a kickstart on this. But thanks anyway.

Stonk! Stonking great help to my campaign! Kudos to you for your efforts.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Ran my first ever PFRPG session as DM last night (UK) and the group, made mostly of new RPG players, spend the entire session playing the Swallowtail Festival games. They didn't make it to the speeches - and one of them is already stone drunk!

Looks like it could be a very long campaign ... and I can't wait.

Although there's plenty of stuff available in these message board, any hints for a new DM and a new PFRPG group would be welcome!

So much for my fears! I had 3 new players, one seasoned roleplayer but new to PFRPG and one surprise player (who doesn't like the rules!)

We spent the entire session just playing some of the games - and they were useless. They couldn't throw a goblin, or hit the Sandpoint Devil. They DID win the Dragon Race. Only one managed to complete the Pie Relay - the female elf rogue was way in the lead until the last pie!

BUT. And it's a big but! The wizard decided to have a go at Pixie's Kiss. He got drunk (!) and started a fight. All hell broke loose until the druid cast Mist of Darkness and they made it out onto the street. Now they need to keep an eye out for the big guy whose nose they broke.

And that was only 11:30 on the first day. The speeches hadn't even begun.

But it was great fun! I used the games to introduce the new players to dice rolling and some of the checks and things they'll have to do in the "real" game. It was a great way to get a new group to work together.

We used iconic pre-gens for ease of play. But I'm sure before long they'll be creating their own character for the long haul or RotRL.

Thanks for all the suggestions and work done by previous posters. Our 1st session was a blast and I've got 3 new guys hopefully hooked.

Cheers!

@Misroi fair enough :)

Although looking at my players pregame chatter it seems 2 already have had a big bust up and one has pulled out. And that's before the first session has even met....! Makes me sad for the rest as emails have started warning of potential tension at the table. I need to bang a few bonces together and tell them to grow up already.

But will report on the use of the games after the PCs play them - if any players turn up.

Tonight I run my first ever PFRPG session. And ROTRL is the campaign.

I'm just so stoked to find so much useful info in the forums - no matter how old it is.

There's a number of newbies in my group and the games here are going to add fun, spice, and an easy way to get into PFRPG.

Thanks to you all!

Now I'm off to steal other resources kindly shared by GMs. Such fun!

Hi all,

It may seem like reinventing the wheel - considering Hero Lab is so brilliant - but I am slowly developing a Filemaker Character Sheet with all the math built in. This is mainly so that I can get a better grip on the rules. But it occurs to me that someone else may have started a project like this or that others would be interested in whatever I "kobble" together.

It's at a very early stage, with glaring omissions and errors. But is there any interest, or should I just keep it to myself and pretend I never mentioned it?

TIA
