About Wayland Agmundr

As a young boy, Wayland dreamed of fighting alongside his older brother Roland as knights the likes of which Golarion had never seen. He hoped to make this dream come true when emissaries of a paladin order came to Hillcross. While Roland enrolled into the Mendevian Crusaders order, Wayland was too young at the time to join. As he said his goodbyes to Roland, Way promised to train until the order returned so they would both be ready. He pushed himself through a physical regimen that could be considered heavy even to Hillcross natives. His training lasted for two long years as he waited for the crusaders' return. But this time, they came with a terrible surprise. The order hadn't sent for recruits, but to deliver the corpse of Roland Agmundr.

In his grief, Wayland took up his brother's sword and armor and demanded the crusaders let him take his brother's place to carry out his legacy. They took in the angry young man out of pity and hoped that the order could temper his anguish into fervent zealotry. Way could prove his strength to the Mendevians, and even adopted their faith to a degree. But deep within himself he couldn't turn away from the idea that he shouldn't be fighting without his brother. He called back to the dreams of standing against the evils of the world. His training had paid off, but even in Mendev, he had pushed himself further. He studied secrets of arcane magic to bolster his potential. He learned how to tap into his own blood in order to alter his body and abilities. He even sparred with the adventurers traveling by from his homeland and picked up what talents he could glean from their furious attacks.

One problem that had accosted Wayland was a crisis of faith, however. Even as he tried to share the beliefs of the Iomadaean knights, he did not have the same ability to call on a paladin's boons of healing and righteousness. He felt as though his heart wasn't alongside theirs. He decided to leave the capable knights and travel alone in a journey of self discovery. He hoped to find how to gain the peace his brothers in arms had attained through religious meditation. What he didn't expect, however, were the fire giants of Varisia.
