What Niketsu said. Plus, even with our huge stash of beginning cash, I don't think paper and pencil made it into Warrick's equipment. *facepalm* [ooc]Also, a quick question: For classes like armsman and Dai'dore which give bonus combat feats, do you want us to keep to the specific feats listed in the WoT book, or do you allow any combat feat that could be taken by a 'fighter'?
Warrick gathers up the three remaining pigeons, keeping the unbloodied one separate from the others. He hurries after Niketsu. I will be traveling as well, and will be out of town until next year. I should still be able to post, but it might be sporadic depending on what's going on. Merry Christmas and happy holidays all!
Grabbing the cage in one hand, Warrick uses his other to steady himself as he steps quickly back and away from the rickity edges of the roof. Seeing the look on Niketsu's face, he turns and looks in the direction she is. What. In the name of the light is that? K Blight: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 Assuming of course the floor didn't give way... :)
Warrick slips through the door, placing himself between his Aes Sedai and the foul creature as he takes up position, ready to strike if the thing comes within reach. Stepping out the door (assuming he can), moving the equivalent of 10 ft, keeping line of sight open for Niketsu to strike again if needed, and readying an action to attack if the thing comes within reach. btw, how far away is it from the door?
Stepping back slightly, Warrick softly apprises Niketsu of the situation. "Shadowspawn on the rooftop - right about there. Guards are dead." Warrick puts his weight into the door once more, trying to force it open far enough for either him to squeeze through, or for Niketsu to weave against the creature. Str 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Warrick shakes himself and gives his Aes Sedai an urgent look. Addressing all gathered, "We've spent too long here. Niketsu Sedai and I will go and send the message to the army. Go and find Davor, Tandem. None should be wandering this place alone. We also need to know what happens outside this hall. Does the fortress yet hold? Do we throw our weight in the defense, or leave it to its fate in order that we return another day." Niketsu: The bond passes the feeling of sadness at that last thought, nearly overridden by cold anger and resolve
Ware!! Warrick roars as he surges forward towards Tandem, blade raised aggressively. For a moment, it appears as if he means to slice the man in two until you realize his attention focusing just beyond.... rolls: charging the shadowspawn:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 161d10 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Initiative if needed:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 Well, let's hope Niketsu is slightly more effective... haha
Warrick growls under his breath, already swinging easily into a fighting stance as he quickly searches for Miere's apparent slayer. Perception:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 If neither he or the others detect a visible threat, and if, after a moment, the Aes Sedai do not indicate they've detected a hidden 'presence' either, he will begin herding everyone to their respective tasks - his own presumably being to accompany Niketsu as they make their way to the pigeon roost.
Wow, we all missed it, didn't we. That can't be good. :) The roost is likely to be at or near the top of the tower. If they have broken through, we could easily be cut off from escape up there. But I do agree, warning must get through to the army,by bird or by foot, no matter the cost. If that is our path, we should make haste before this place is surrounded. He looks to Niketsu and Natalya. What would you have us do with that woman?
k blight: to determine what sort of shadowspawn these are, how they are organized (whether infiltration typically as we see here, or if there are likely entire brigades of these things) and whatever else may come to mind: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18 Best wipe that filth off he says, stating the obvious, and takes a second to wipe his own blade on a napkin even though the creature had dodged his strike. Better safe than sorry.
Gotcha. In that case... With a growl, Warrick wrenches the blade free of the darkfriend's corpse before turning on his heel to glare down at Miere. How many attack? How do they intend to gain entrance to the fortress? Answer quick woman, or I promise, it is you who will end as the plaything. I doubt the shadow is forgiving towards those who fail it. Perception to hear or see the fight beyond Miere.1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Upon hearing Maddy's words toward Niketsu, Warrick wastes no time, but charges the gleeman, his expression blazing with cold fury as the sword whistles through the air. Rnd 1 action, charge and power attack Maddy. Attack 1d20 + 13 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 13 + 2 - 2 = 31
total damage if crit, 41. I wasn't sure and do not have my book on me, so I did not double the power attack bonus for the crit.
Tandem & DM:
Warrick snorts. "No need, Gleeman. It's a sight I've seen commonly enough." He says in a dry tone. "Though usually...." He cuts suddenly off mid-sentence, his body going taught as if ready to spring and his eyes glance down the hall, hawk-like. "Apologies. If you'll excuse me, there is something I must see to." He maneuvers past the two lovers even as he speaks and is already two steps past the pair by the time the sentence is finished. His steps echo down the hall as he hurries down the corridor, all but running. Niketsu: You feel Warrick's already taut nerves sharpen suddenly in answer to your call. Tense suspicion and doubts of the evening suddenly shoved to the side to be replaced by worry for you and a determination that could chew through rock. You sense, and then hear him coming closer...
(assuming the pair of darkfriends don't intervene before he gets there): He rounds the corner and, seeing you there, comes to a halt. As his hand rests on the hilt of his sword, his eyes sweep past you to the corridor behind, and then back the way he came before then searching your face. Seeing the look there, his sword rasps out of the scabbard. He asks no questions, but turns to face the same direction as you and nods. You know he is ready to follow your lead.
Warrick scowls at Miere's back as the woman walks off and growls to the others. I dont like this. At the very least she should have had word of warning from Barsine by now, if not her own scouts. Be on your guard and stand ready. Something is wrong here. Without another word, he gets up, and stalks quickly towards the door, hoping to catch Niketsu before she reaches her room.
When it seems the attention of the room is elsewhere, and Maddy far away, Warrick relates in a hushed tone his knowledge of the type of spider, and what its blighted counterpart is known for in a voice meant only for the group. He also observes, For a military outpost about to be overrun by a horde of darkspawn, the mood seems rather jovial and unconcerned, wouldn't you say? His eyes meet Niketsu's. Niketsu: You sense a growing wariness, almost outright suspicion from the bond.
Warrick catches sight of the strange bracelet as Maddy raises his arms in dramatic emphasis to a line during the performance. His brows draw down as he tries to recall anything of the like. A black spider is rather dark and uncharacteristic talisman for a gleeman. I wonder what it signifies, if anything.. K Nobility: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
K Blight (because, hey, you never know...) 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Warrick hands off his own horse to Bors, and takes note of where the stable lies, should he need to look over the remounts before they set off again. Turning to one of the off duty soldiers, he asks where the mess-hall is before appearing at Niketsu's side once more. How long do you intend to remain here? His eyes follow hers, taking in the same details. Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
I think it is more or less up to the Aes Sedai and whether or not they have renew. Having the horses keel over dead, perhaps before reaching our destination, would kinda defeat the purpose. ;) Besides, I don't think all of us can make that dc without a great deal of luck or a hefty bonus for using the 'whip'.
Warrick glances behind them as the others pull short. Indeed, his own mount was not making the time he would haave liked, or could likely have coaxed from his own personal steed. He glances over at Niketsu before reigning in to keep pace with those struggling. We'll go easier on them for an hour or so. Let them get a second wind before the final push to the tower.
