Ok the short part, a friend and I decided to Co-GM. We each run a module, and don't read each others modules. He started and we finished Burnt Offerings this weekend, so I'm just now starting to read into Skinshaw.
OK now that's cleared up. We ended Burnt in a rather, unique way I think.
We somehow completely bypassed Gogmurt. I'll explain more on him in a moment.
We then systematically either slaughtered or subdued the goblins within Thistletop. My father in law decided he wanted to try RPGs and is playing the paladin, so several goblins unawares/asleep were subdued and left tied up.
We proceed, kill Ripnugget and everyone with him.
Eventually manage to come across Lyrie, who runs on damage, leading some of us into combat with her, Nualia, and yeth hounds,...and I say some because our Pally and another player get stuck in a trap in route.
We barely manage to slay them all and recover.
Proceed a bit further, then use a hidden room to hide and recover over night. We encounter Bruthazmus in his Harem "at work" by kicking down the door, gaining a surprise round and a few crits ended him quickly. The harem screams and draws out Orik who eventually surrenders, and we decided to turn his cloak, offering to pay him and allow him to live for his service.
We return to the surface to find the subdued gobs are gone, the Goblin dogs in the that we avoided are also gone, but managed to hear and rescue Shadowmist.
The last thing was the group deciding to lay claim to Thistletop, basically having Orik become our Capt of Guard as it were. They plan to hire out laborers to clean up and eventually rebuild the place. Reusing materials they can where they can for now.
Now, I'm still reading over the Ult Camp guide's kingdom section, but my idea here is to allow them to "cash in" at a "trade in value" some of the sections to use those materials to fortify and rebuild other sections. Does this make sense, and/or seem reasonable? The group's general idea is to perhaps start with an inn and house for them to use as a base and somewhere to build from.
Now Gogmurt, my fellow GM passed his notes to me...he came into Thistletop while the group below, released the subdued gobs and rounded up the remaining gob dogs and retreated off the island, knowing that the remaining 10 Goblins wouldn't have a chance against the group. I intend to have him harass the settlements reconstruction efforts.
So what's everyone's opinions on this?
