Liberty's Edge

Male Half Elf Fighter Lv.3

"Well, someone needs to go first. At least it isn't a bloody desert." Walter said nervously. Walter made one last glance to his party, then grabbed his sword and walked slowly into the portal.

Thanks!

Walter picks up the Blade of Righteousness and examines it. Perhaps this will come in handy." Walter mumbles to no one in particular. Walter then starts taking a few practice swings with the sword.

Have a safe flight!

I'm not sure if I will join or not. I think I need more info on them to decide if the character of Walter would join or not.

"Well um... Don't mind if I do."

Walter instantly heads towards a selection of swords. He is current greatsword was old and worn.

Walter nods and seems satisfied with the compensation.

"Not to keep beating a dead horse, but I agree with Fillion. The first experience was rather...Unpleasant. If you wouldn't mind pointing me in the direction of the stairs?"

Liberty's Edge

"Also, how will we be compensated for killing these hags?" Walter says softly.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half Elf Fighter Lv.3

Well, this is a great start to our business relationship." Walter says in a very sarcastic tone of voice.

Walter looks around to his team members to make sure everyone is okay.

Walter stands up and brushes his shoulder pretending that his entrance wasn't as awkward as it really was. He slowly sits down trying to avoid any attention.

Walter followed the rest of the party. He gingerly balanced his greatsword on his right shoulder.

"I followed the Elf to the alchemist tent. I'm not sure he noticed me, people tend not to. I got bored waiting for him so I made my way here. Hopefully he is alright."

Liberty's Edge

"I agree with Aisling, we best get going." Walter picks up his massive greatsword and stands up.

Walter turned to face Cilla.

"My name is Walter Sadsong and yes, I will be joining the party. I would love to buy you a drink, though my companion here has convinced me that I better lay off the stuff... at least for tonight."

Walter then gestured to the barkeep to bring a drink.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half Elf Fighter Lv.3

"Yes, yes we are."

Walter gave a little smile. He then lifted his hand and tilted his head back as if he had a drink. Upon realizing there was nothing in his hand, he sheepishly looked away from Aisling.

"To be honest, I too find shopping rather dull. Perhaps we can do more investigating together? Find out some more info? Gi-backa makes me nervous."

Liberty's Edge

Walter stared at the knife she was holding. He started talking, but his eyes remained fixated on the knife.

"I guess you're right." He said in a very disappointed and sad tone. Walter made a gesture at the barkeep to cancel the drink.

"Nothing is wrong... Just some regrets is all. So what brings you to this fine establishment?"

Liberty's Edge

Walter had been daydreaming until a girl sat down next to him. It initially startled him, but after a few moments he regained what little composure he had.

"I umm... um.. well... at the moment I'm waiting for my drink. Don't take offense to me not talking much. I'm not exactly socially..."

Walter suddenly stopped talking and stared into space for a few painfully awkward moments.

"Hmm, I seem to have forgotten what I was going to say. That happens quite a lot. Can I buy you a drink?

Walter was just glad to have some company.

Thank you Gonzo :)

Walter is the token eeyore of the group

The dialogue is very good.

Would someone mind interacting with Walter a bit so I can get back into the story a little more? I kinda fell out of the loop

Walter, with nothing to do, walked back to the tavern. He sat down his Greatsword next to him and took a seat. He already felt exhausted from the heat. Walter took his canteen and gently poured some water into his dry, dusty hands. He then splashed the water on his face in a vain attempt to find relief from the heat.

"Two drinks please." He said softly to the barkeeper with a slight stutter.

Walter needed to find some work and make some coin. In the meantime maybe he could ask the barkeep for some info. He had attempted to follow an Elven lad into the alchemist tent, but decided against entering the tent. Maybe he would see the bloke around again.

Liberty's Edge

Sorry for not posting. We had a storm where I am and my power failed for a few days. I'm going to say my character just kinda hung back being that he is not socially inclined. I will be on more frequently.

Liberty's Edge

Walter kept his distance from the party, as he was painfully shy. He saw Fillion and Gonzo enter an alchemist tent so he decided to wait outside.

Liberty's Edge

Walter also follows along. He isn't sure what Gi-Backa and remains very cautious. Not because he thinks Gi-Backa has malicious intentions, but because Walter is scared of being around this many people.

Liberty's Edge

I believe we are a random group and we do not know each other

Sorry for the late post!

Walter was unhappy about being in the hot desert. At least he could get a drink, or two, or three at the tavern. As Walter entered the tavern, his lungs were penetrated by the Hookah smoke. He coughed for a spell and continued into the bar.

He noticed a frightening looking man and he slowly moved toward the man. Walter tried to give the impression of being a tough bastard, but his hunched and solemn disposition, betrayed him.

Liberty's Edge

Sounds good.

@Walter-People still fight in steampunk/gaslamp settings, so you will still absolutely be relevant. As for "fitting in" with the setting, that's all in how you play him.

@Redelia-Sorry to lose you, but totally respect your choice.

@Anya-I apologize, I had forgotten you'd posted about going with magic knife throwing orcle

On the concept of character-type indecision, I'm still debating between elven witch or occultist. Either, way, I'll try to ensure some ability to provide secondary melee assistance, but probably more buff/debuff/control (still deciding) as the focal area.

Okay, I didn't know if a Greatsword wielding fighter would still be relevant.

Liberty's Edge

Will my character fit in alright in this steampunkish setting?

Liberty's Edge

Alright, I have armed my character with a light repeating crossbow just in case things get a wee bit hairy. I cannot wait to RP with you all.

Liberty's Edge

Thank you everyone for the advice. I will start making changes. Should I add a crossbow as my backup weapon? Or maybe a shortsword?

I'm going off the Core Rule book that I bought from Paizo as a PDF.

Liberty's Edge

Oh okay, that makes a lot of sense now.

I'm not lost about anything in this campaign or by anything you have said. I'm just figuring out the rules and such.

Liberty's Edge

Thank you so much! I spent a long time on it but I'm sure I made mistakes. I'm also a bit dyslexic (with numbers, not so much reading) so I'm sure I made some errors. I figured the best way to learn was to just do it and try my best.

I really appreciate everyones patience

Liberty's Edge

I'm from the initial thread and I'm checking in. I've been reading through the rules but honestly feel very lost. I feel like the best way for me to learn is to jump right in.

I will be playing as the perpetually depressed Walter Sadsong who is a Half Elf fighter.

Would someone mind checking out my character sheet? I have a link to it on my profile. I think I calculated everything correctly (3rd level, 25 pt buy) and added the bonuses that my feats, race, and class give me.

I'm really excited for this and I love the world you have created Mandarin.

Liberty's Edge

Awesome!!!!

Liberty's Edge

Thank you so much!

I will go change my character sheet to reflect the starting conditions for this campaign

Also, can we use that 900 gold to buy things before the campaign?

Liberty's Edge

I'm not sure, sorry. So we are starting at level 3? Also, is it okay that I join?

I understand if you don't accept me since i'm new but I am willing to learn and opeen to constructive criticism.

Liberty's Edge

Is it okay if I join? I'm new also. I have a lv1 Half Elf Fighter. After spending 3 hours studying the rules I finally created Walter Sadsong! If needed I can change my scores to a 25 pt buy
