I released a second app for widows phone 7, called RPG Dice Calculator.

It uses a simple calculator style interface to allow you to enter complicated dice formulas and then uses a cryptographic random algorithm to generate the dice rolls.

For example let’s say you have an icyburst spiked chain of undead bane. You can enter your die roll for it as follows:

1d10 + 2d4 + 2d6 and press =

the app will respond with something like (6)+(4+3)+(1+5)=19

It allows you to save your most used formulas for quick re-rolling and tracks rolls for that session

hope you check it out, and happy gaming.

New RPG Dice calculator application from FlyingDogHouse, it uses a calculator style interface to create, roll and save dice for your game.

Basically you enter a formula like this [3d6]+3+[2d10]-1 and it will roll it out for you.

Oh and to insure it is as random as possible the app uses the cryptographic random functions from Microsoft.

thanks and happy gaming!

Hey everyone my Initiative tracker application just got published to the WP7 store, if you have a Windows Phone give it a shot it's a free Ad supported application.

It includes drag and drop reordering as well as support for auto-rolling or you can enter your own rolls.

The exact line is "act with honor (not lying, not cheating, not using poison, and so forth)"

the concept that a feint in combat is a lie does not really hold up because using misdirection as a tactic to not get killed, is not the same thing as telling a lie.
The meanings of the words are completely different.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/lie
http://www.reference.com/browse/Feint

Now in a contest between 2 opponents who are both chivalrous a feint might be considered "cheating" and thus frowned on.

Also remember the DM is the person who is making the calls as to what is or is not a violation of a Paladin's code. This should be made clear up front when a player says "hey I want to play a Paladin". There has to be an understanding between the Player and the DM upfront what each expects otherwise it will be nothing but problems.

The idea here is that the player wants to have fun playing the character not be constantly chided because the told the farmer his son died heroically in battle defending his sister. When in actuality he was hiding under a wagon. Lawful Good is Law tempered with Goodness and thus sometimes a Lawful Good person will bend the law to do Good.

you could do dance/singing contests for the bards or even a "group skit" event made of many skill checks like the fighter holding a chair over his head and the rogue balancing on it.

How about a "coolest use of a cantrip" contest...can you use ray of frost to chill a beer?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/autorealm/ is a good one

or

http://rptools.net ( this has a lot of other features )

this was solved in an official 3.5 Rules of the game article I will post the relevant text here, but also the link

"It's possible to attempt a trip attack as an attack of opportunity. Fortunately, you can't be tripped while getting up from prone, at least not through the attack of opportunity you provoke. That because attacks of opportunity are resolved before the actions that provoke them (there are a few exceptions, see Rules of the Game: All About Attacks of Opportunity for details). When you try to stand up from a prone position, the attack of opportunity comes before you get back on your feet. Since you're still prone when the attack comes, the attack of opportunity can't trip you."
