I give that post a 4.
Now THAT is funny. I dont care who you are.

Yeah that certainly gave me a "yuck-yuck."

It was a bit of work getting through some of the critiques but i was defiantly trying to do so in the spirit of learning a bit for myself.
The main thing i learned is that while i agree with some critiques i am completely bewildered by many others... so i doubt if i will ever hit on a Superstar lv.

Basically, this competition gives me as much say as to who goes forward from here as it gives to Ed Greenwood.

And that's why democracy doesn't work.

*grin*

Haha! It does sound a little crazy when put that way...

My points are that:

(1) I do not consider Time Stop (as currently written) a suitable spell for a construction requirement for this spell.
(2) A lot of people seem to think that Time Stop seems to work differently from the way that it does in the Beta, or that it should work differently to the way that it does in the Beta.
I get the feeling that you are missing the point about an wondrous item not having to do exactly what the component spells do...

Though it sounds odd to say i do not see the need to worry about the spell in use so much. Makes enough sense to me.

I was going to point out the classic Bag of Holding for an example... It needs secret chestand that spell places a chest on the ethereal plane. The contents of the bag are just an unspecified extra-dimensional space. Pretty classic i would say.
An even better example would be the Haversack... it does not even specify that the storage is extra-dimensional, it just is. As an added point it always gives you the specific item you need when you reach in. No need for a unseen servant or anything else... rather wondrous.

Leg Warmers of the Steel Town Girl

This really was great! I could not help thinking of a "greater" version which casts create water above the dancer at the end of a performance... how this would actually help (unless on fire), i have no clue.

My top 5(ish)
Dust of Weighty Burdens No lie... totally in love with this one!

Hurricane Gloves

Key of Closed Doors

Temporal Bracers

I am kind of stuck on the 5th... i am keen on School of Eyes for the weirdness, yet i really enjoy the flavor of Last Leaves of the Autumn Dryad.

After careful review, this is definitely my favourite of the bunch. A cool, unique effect that has a great visual and is well thought out. Reading this answers all of my questions about it, but I can think of a ton of ways to use it. Congratulations!

I am in total agreement here. A simple, yet wondrously designed item.

Great work Jacob, i cannot wait to see what is next!

Being a newcomer this year, I wasn't as privy to last year's guidance so I was coming in fresh and naive. I didn't know where to look for guidance and only discovered some after my submission. Is it at all possible to incorporate your guidance for this year's submissions into next years rules, FAQ or whatever in the announcement?

I can second this, also being brand new here (happy to worm my way in though).

I'll admit to being a little glum but now that i have gone through all the winning entries i see where mine was likely wanting...
Spoiler:
I used the same unfavored format as the "Crossing" and might have been a tad underpowered/unflashy.

That being said, my wholehearted congratulations to the 32 creators! Good luck to all in the following rounds as we all look forward to seeing what you have planned next!

As it states in the SRD it would apply to one specific firearm of choice, such as a musket.

The feat may be taken multiple times, each time applying to a new and specific weapon.

I had wondered about the water situation... leaving a bubble or if the glamer would compensate. I had assumed it would be rather easy to see though.

My question with countering invisibility was detect magic. As it reads if someone is caught in the cone on the third round it seems you know their location... but i was never sure how to explain it to my players. Does the caster see them as a big aura thing moving around the exact location or what?
...mostly i was shocked at myself for not seeing a cantrip beat a 2-lv spell!

A monkey would have the same Intelligence as any other familiar.

But no other familiar would have opposable thumbs. I just foresee a lot of (magic)item use and crazy stuff going on. I know familiars are not as smart as their masters but they certainly have a leg up on their non-magical relatives.

Might be worth a feat for balance is all...

Shadow Lodge

This is a great idea, especially the slight of hand bonus!

With a little hat and a cigar... though the opposable thumbs thing might be an issue. Maybe an improved familiar since the increased intelligence lends itself to a lot of object manipulation.

I am a big fan of Gnomes... the tinkering/alchemist/wizard/bard/prankster-types or otherwise. While i always appreciated their cousinly status with Dwarves (though i have never approved of the Con adjustment and i applaud the Int change mentioned) i can accept the Fey association.

Whenever i have faced complaints on Gnomes (usually what are they and how do they fit into anything) i try to point to Tom Bombadil...
Connected to the earth, holding the power of song, ancient and forgotten to the modern world, light-hearted, forest friend.
Sounds like a powerful (and fey) Gnomish Bard to me - anyone else get that feeling?
